I believe SVB is going to the World Cup...who else won't be at turning stone? Johnnyt
 
Is MD going to turning stone or world cup? What the head count on U.S. players going to world cup?

who are you to say what tournament he would be better off playing? I believe SVB is not concerned with which tournament is easier, He is a true competitor and I could see him choosing to play in a tournament with a tougher field and especially with a bigger title.

He is not in pool for the money which is why he passed on bogus ball and decided to improve his skills in a real game.

I bet your one of those players who decides to play the handicaps tournaments and passes on the opens because you feel you have no chance. here some advice, you only get better by playing other players and beating them.

SVB may not get into the top 8 in the Worlds but id like to see you lay some odds to back up your statement. Ill sweat bet it. ill even post if you want me to.

I can understand you dont like people posting that SVB is the best in the world. but whats more annoying is people like you bashing him for no apparent reason. nobody even mentioned SVB being the best in this thread. I bet if you met SVB in real life you would be following him around like a little pool groupie.

Well you know what they say about people who assume....

For the record, I do not like handicap tournaments. I actually avoid tournaments & stick to gambling against players above my speed as it has helped me tremendously.

I follow no one around like a groupie, I actually know truly famous people & lets face it, pool pros outside of a Jeanette Lee are not truly famous.

Having an opinion on something is not bashing, so get the two straight before coming to me with your bs.
 
Here we go with best in the world again. Is SVB the best in the world? Who's better? There are several people who, when they play, are rarely if ever an underdog, and SVB is one of them. As is Appleton, Orcullo, Bustamante, Souquet, Archer and Hohmann. I'm sure there are a few Asians I didn't mention that fit that bill too. On any given day, all these people can beat anybody.
