World Famous Lock Society Members pool matches and tournaments you have played in?

Ok

Played in? Well... the first competitive match I played was in 1988 at the prestigious St. Stan's Social Club in the beautiful mill town of Turners Falls, MA....

You want to hear about the second match?

But seriously, my first tournament win was a single game double elimination 8-ball bar tourney at another local social club (see a pattern?) in 1988 also. I won this tournament the first two weeks I played and they politely asked me me to not to play again. All the players were friendly and liked me but the club felt that they'd lose the members who were playing just for the fun of it. I complied and ended up being a member and eventually played many times there as a league player. But, this was a significant thing for me because I was suddenly viewed as a local top gun, even though I was almost always the youngest player in the field.

Freddie <~~~ has at least a couple more stories

Now that is the way to do it Cornerman. You did not have to win at all. Good player at a young age, very good!
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

2 Turning Stones (played Larry Nevel, Brittney Bryant and Greg Antanoks)
Predator Tour events (played Phil Davis)
Bob Stocks Memorial
Hard Times Shootout
BCA Tour event #9 1999 (lost to Gary Spaeth)
Seattle Open 2005
Tons of weekly and monthly tournaments

JJ,
You are right about the feeling you get when you teach a person how to shoot pool and they smile, and when they become good players that is a big reward in itself. I like to teach people how to become good pool players. Thanks for your input.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Not at all - was merely trying to help, that's all.

"Merely trying to help." R-i-i-i-g-h-t. Your snarkiness (e.g. paired with that lumberjack video thing) knows no bounds, does it, Tim?

You are perfectly free to link footage of you not suffering from a bit of a headache, and maybe even potting a ball or two. ;)

A sinus headache is "a bit" of a headache, Tim? Obviously, you don't even know what it is. Here, I'll give you a clue -- try having someone wind-up with a golf club, slamming you right between the eyes, and doing the same every 10 seconds afterwards. It messes with your PSR, your timing, and your ability to even see. And the commentators suspected this, too, for they overtly commented about it a couple times during the match.

And as for being free to post videos, why don't *YOU* post videos of yourself playing, Mr. I-take-potshots-at-everyone-for-sport-while-I'm-behind-an-anonymous-keyboard? Of course, we'll NEVER see that, because even you know it'll ruin your ability to hide in the ivory tower to use that anonymous keyboard.

:D

Pedants corner, perhaps, but it's sarkiness - a bastardisation of sarcastic.

Didn't you like the video?

As far as headaches go, I use aspirin.

No, I meant what I said -- snarkiness -- as in being snarky. Maybe that word isn't used in British English, but it certainly is used here.

Yes, I did like the video (big John Cleese / Monty Python fan, as you know), but let's cut the crap -- we both know why you linked to it.

And your aspirin comment is classic. Try looking up sinusitis.

P.S.: that was a huge snip -- I guess you have no comment on the ivory tower / hiding-behind-anonymous-keyboard thing, eh? :D

Usually, American English (British English - WTF?) drops superfluous letters from English words. Now you're adding them.

Anyway, I've always been a little puzzled by the 'hiding-behind' thing - what difference can it possibly make? The only thing you need to know is, I wouldn't have lost that match 9-0 - headache or no headache.

Thaiger, if you don't know what it's like to get crushed in a race to nine...
...you haven't been adventurous enough.
I've seen world champions get white-washed.

.and as to English, youse guys drop whole syllables, just like the French.
...care for some 'wooster sauce'?

Hey Lock....aint been competing at pool for a while....
...I miss the action days.
Most of the pool I've played lately is showing somebody how to do a shot.

But I HAVE won a backgammon tournament with some world-class players
in it.
And I won a hold'em tournament, 110 entries ( "live'...I like to see the
whites of their eyes.)

And I still love 'prop' bets, you wouldn't mind being in with me.:D
