World Nineball Tour Scoring

I'm a little lost here, I'm not even sure what you guys are talking about. One thing I do know is that if the only way to see it is DAZN I will be out in the cold and not watching.

It’s always interesting because they don’t want their field to be exactly the same as the World Pool Masters which is a more prestigious event and should be much more strict about having the best players. I assume PLP has a selection with some strategic choices about which players will stimulate audiences in key targeted markets. The fiscal consideration of that would seem more likely than just “who is buddy buddy to Emily”.

I really don't agree. The PLP is a long grind in which the cream nearly always gets to the top. When you play dozens of races to five, if you don't have the class, it will show up soon enough. I feel certain that one of the game's true giants will win it. We may never see a Cinderella winner at the PLP given the format.

I wasn’t meaning dead money invites for the spectacle. I just mean if they purely wanted the top 16 then Dang, Feliciano, Tuan, Regalario, and Feijen wouldn’t have received invites and Alcaide, Kazakis, Yapp, Lechner and Kaci would have been invited out the gate. Of those non-top 16, you can assume the focus on Asian players was intentional with the Reyes Cup on the horizon this year.

Only half (NOT all16) are based on rankings. Other half are wildcards so doesn't have to make sense or be based on rankings- they can invite anyone they like including the WPA President if they want to showcase a public "whipping". :ROFLMAO:
The wildcards probably based on viewers geographics- Vietnam Open was big hit so they have Vietnam player, it would be a sin to leave out Philippines (not sure why Biado not playing and they could have chosen better Filipino wildcards. )
Still this is the strongest field assembled for this event 14 out of 16 are 800+ (last year only had about 9). Should be really good.

I agree. That was the point I was trying to emphasize. You did better by referencing the selection criteria. The wildcards aren’t simply whoever has curried favor with Emily but more so to stimulate audiences in particular viewing regions (like Asia). I wonder if we will ever see non-WNT Tour Members (like Kelly Fisher) again in the future. Probably not.

Here the top 4 finishers for the 3 events so far. [In 2021 the event had a different name (Championship League Pool) and a little different format.]

2021 -- Ouschan, Alcaide, Kaçi/Melling
2022 -- Ouschan, Filler, Van Boening/Shaw
2023 -- Sanchez-Ruiz, Shaw, Pehlivanovic/Oi
