World record attempt to support afterschool pool!!!!!!!!!!!

First off I want to say hello to all my good friends/family here on AZBILLIARDS!

Everyone here knows me as the Grey Ghost, for those of you that don't know me I'll introduce myself...my friends call me Keeb' short for Keebie. I've been playing pool since I was a young child, being that the game has given me more in life than anything else....I want to give back.

About 7 years ago me and Marcus Norwood devised a plan for an afterschool pool program in Natchitoches, LA.....sadly I moved to the Midwest to test my skills against the great players from that region, and he moved to Houston....well 7 years later and he got his program up and running in Houston. I have sadly not have been able to have a major role in his development of the program being that I can't really be there.....that upsets me very much.

So I've decided that as of now I'm going to change that, if I can't be there every day to help out and grow it I'll just help out and help grow the best way I can at the moment....and thats to give my time....hopefully about 80 hrs of time and a broken record, or two.


I would like to invite anyone willing to help with the effort to support the afterschool pool program....not only to one day better our game that we love but to possibly even better the lives of the kids that are part of the program.


Before the new year I am planning to attempt to break a billiards/pool world record to support and help raise funds for Marcus Norwoods afterschool pool program in Houston, TX

The two main ones that I'm interested in taking a shot at are the Marathon Match Length and Most Balls made in a 24hr period.

Anyone here with knowledge of diff records in this game we all play please post those records here so as I can figure out exactly which one I would like to attempt.

I ask for the list b/c I may end up trying for more than one. Tho I really want to bust that marathon match length....(72hrs PLEASE, I'll do that in my steel toe boots and a tool bag on my back!)


We are looking to stream the entire event and have fundraisers here and as many poolhalls as we can across the country.

More info will come later but any ideas are more than welcome, as will any help.

Thanks brother, My initial idea is to do the fundraiser @ a donation/hr of play if we do the marathon match. Sort of how they have the lift-a-thon for highschool football. If someone donates 50cents and I go for 80hrs then thats $40.

I would like for people to spread the word around their local pool halls and when the time is ready the members of AZ can help to put out the word and start accepting donation signatures.

If we all went to our local pool halls and got just 5 or ten people in each one we could raise a substantial amount. I think that would be the easiest route, friends family and pool halls.

I will also be setting up a paypal account to accept donations online, which I will probably need some help with.

It would be really easy to get this thing going....especially if everyone chips in just a bit.

IF we work together as a whole the event will be a great success.

So anyone thats interested in representing the event in thier local area, and getting/handling donations in said area please don't hesitate to speak up b/c we need you.

The world record for longest time playing pool is 73 hours I believe. My friend Rikki Cunningham broke it last year to raise money for his co-workers(who was killed on the job) family.
