I'm not keen on Ken, especially as analyst, as opposed to commentator. He's a bit too matey-matey for my liking. Davis is also a poor analyst/link man, and not much better in the commentary box. He doesn't know when to stop talking.
Taylor has really improved during this tournament - he's concentrated on top class punditry, rather than endlessly waffling on about how lovely everyone is, and cliched guff about players' nicknames. He's terrific when it comes to spotting shots.
The Great WT is a pompous arse, but I quite like pompous arses in certain situations, and he gets away with it.
Griffiths is wry and dry, and really quite amusing - it always makes me laugh when he criticises players for playing too slowly lol.
Virgo's good value all round, a safe pair of hands. Parrot's great as an analyst and commentator.
Hendry started slowly but is going to be class in all roles.
I'd also say Hazel Irving is top class too - and I bet she hates snooker.
I agree on many counts but not Hazel Irvine. I saw her come out of the unused commentary booth last night in her street clothes. We had a chat and she said, "I had the night off but really wanted to see the Trump/O'Sullivan match."
I didn't like Hendry's commentary last year, but this year he is on point from what I've caught.
JV tries to bring some excitement to the game but his hollers can be heard through the plexiglass.
Griffiths has been sweating Hawkins and spending some time in the press room. A nice, soft-spoken man.
Steve Davis looks slim and tall, especially in his dress clothes. A few days ago when the second half of the session wasn't needed he filled an hour for the crowd. He performed 3 trick shots and one hour of stand-up comedy. He was quite funny and really knows how to handle a crowd.
Jason Mohammed has been quite friendly and seems to be fitting in with the snooker crowd.
Willie Thorne might be the most disliked by the die-hard British snooker fans. One Scot described him something like this: Willie says what could theoretically happened if the player would have shot a different shot, what might have happened if the player missed that shot, and what theoretically would have been a been a better shot 5 shots ago.
