Tournament

If I felt I had an 80% chance to cash, then I would, otherwise NO.

addendum - But, in my case, a local tournament within my handicap I would because I feel I am one of the very top players for my handicap in my city.

absolutely!

YES.

Around here the weekly tourneys are usualy $5.00 plus quarters(50 cent tables) or 5+3 green fee.Personaly I would like to see $20-$30.00 weeklies and 1 $50.00 or $100.00 tourney a week would be great.

I think one of the reasons bars and casinos try to keep the entry fees low is they want to get the regulars, especialy the drinkers,to join in.I dont see a lot of bar regulars playing in the bar tourneys though.

One problem would be the payouts getting chopped up between the top 3-4 players.A plus is that you would not have to add much money, just let people duke it out over thier own money, like gambling without all the match-up talk.

-edit-
I guess it would just be fun to play for something substantial without having to deal with gamblers/hustlers.

If it was on bar tables, no.

If it was for a big table game on good equipment, maybe.

If it was 14.1/one pocket on good equipment, sure.

You sure should be.....you need help.

I would have LOVED to play in that tourny. I didn't hear about it until the night before. Otherwise I would have been there.

For a Bar Pool Tournament if the Bar was Not Adding ANY Money, Plus Charging a PER GAME FEE, and NOT Guaranteeing a First Prices amount of Money?

I SAY NO!

If that was the format of the tourney, heck no.

Additionally, I am too bad at pool to even consider putting up $100 to enter a tourney.

there are plenty of guys that are BAD at golf that'll fork over 3 times that for an afternoon (or morning, whatever) at one golf course. And if it were a PGA Tour pro-am.....it's into the 4 and 5 figures depending where, and what tourney (to play with/alongside the BIG boys).

You know Rick I never asked the Government for help, welfare, food stamps, etc. The one time I did apply to the (SBA) Small business Administration for a Business load, they turned me DOWN for a funny reason.

I was seeking 10K to expand my business, and buy some badly needed new equipment and was told about SBA Loans by my Bank Manager.

The reason I got turned down was the SBA did not Loan Little Amounts like 10K, maybe if I had ask for a Half Million Bucks they would have hand the money over fast.
