WOW. Over $7 people lose their cool ????

I agree. I sell a good amount of items every year and I rarely add tracking information because its simply time consuming for inexpensive items. Now if its something over $100 or more then I add it or if its requested. I save all my shipping receipts so if an issue arises I just go look at them according to date and zip code. I also always say 5-7 business days for it to ship out that way when it arrives sooner they are happy. Some people lack patience but I do try and ship out once a week.

I always used paypal's online shipping service (to print my shipping labels out, for my customers) no matter how small the order was ($5 DVD for example). Using their shipping service is the best way to prove to paypal and the customer that their order was shipped, and to the correct address that the customer provided with their paypal payment. This way, the customer always gets notified through paypal of the tracking info (which comes free with USPS 1st Class Shipping). I take that back, I think the fee was like $0.18 (with 1st class shipping) back when I was selling a lot of DVD movies. It might be free now though.

I like your style Lenny. I will now go with 5-7 business days :)

With USPS 1st class shipping, the average is 3-5 days (even if you count the weekends). It is just good business to have a tracking number emailed to your customers (no matter if you want it or not).

This is absolutely the dumbest. most stupid gripe I've read about in the last decade.

Let start with the fact RJ and I have disagreed and banged heads about chalk in the past.

So it's not like the two of us are best buds and I'm here to defend my pal or his reputation.

This is just absurd.......RJ is honest, trustworthy, credible, and sincere.....and for the less
than the price of a Subway sandwich he's going to try to get rich and rip off one of his
customers for one box of chalk or disrespect them by bullshitting about its likely delivery?

This person is a fool.......regular US Mail isn't delivered on a Sunday and when a Federal
Holiday occurs on a Sunday, it is honored the following day which means no regular mail
gets delivered. This also means that on the next normal business day, mail resumes and
now has to handle Monday's undelivered mail plus Tuesday's normal mail.

Okay, what does that mean? Some mail might be late and not arrive on Tuesday due to the
cumulative volume. Can you imagine what this irate customer would think and act like then?
This guy needs to lighten up and stop acting like he was mistreated & had a legitimate gripe.

RJ......sometimes in life you cannot avoid grief no matter how hard you try to duck and dodge
.
This is one of those moments but rest assured, your need not be concerned about it. In fact,
how about this.....I'll buy a box of your chalk and you can send it by snail mail and it can show
up any time before I expire. And if that happened, then double the order and send it to my kids.

Matt B.

Yeah, and customers should be very grateful to the sellers that still use USPS 1st Class Mail these days. Most sellers that sell small items in high volume use an Economy shipping service like "FedEx SmartPost", which usually takes a week at the minimum (sometimes longer). That service is the new type of snail mail, not USPS 1st Class (which is very fast in comparison).

You are obviously someone hell bent on getting that dudes $7. And giving him chalk, in exchange.

I will be watching you.

Sorry RJ, I gotta go with Mr. Black Balled on this one, I think he hit the nail on the head. Just so you know I will also be watching too.:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

In all seriousness this is just how society is now. They want everything at warehouse discount prices because "I saw it on the interweb for less" but they dont want to wait the shipping time it takes. There are many online retailers that tell you your purchase wont even be processed for 2-3 days, this is above and beyond the parcel delivery time. Then if the customer does not see his purchase being delivered the very day of estimated delivery they feel they need to place blame on their misfortune on someone.

I do provide tracking #'s to anyone that wants one, if they put their email on their paypal. Most folks don't want to be bothered for a $7 item. Is someone really going to pull up USPS to find their package, by the time they wonder if the chalk should be there, it's already there. 3-5 days, almost like clock work.

And my son is off to college next year, so I won't be selling on AZB or Ebay, only to my dealers across the USA and Europe. Folks can buy from them, I don't make as much, but I get ZERO complaints, and NO WORK for me :)

That just seems like a lot of work (having to manually email customers that do list their email in the paypal note, to say that they do want a tracking number). With paypal shipping service, all of that is automatically taken care of, and the tracking info gets emailed to the customer as soon as you print out their shipping label. This might make your business easier (or harder, I do not know), but at least all of your customers would get the tracking number emailed to them, and they would know (without doubt) that their order was shipped to their correct address. Using paypal's shipping service protects you (in the best way possible) from any paypal complaints in the future, and it may save you time (from having to wait in line at the post office). Sorry, not trying to tell you how to run your business. Just trying to help. I just always really liked paypal's shipping service. I always thought it was (is) a great service.
