WPBA Event in Oregon ~ Why Not Stream?

We all know the women's tour is struggling, down from 8 of 9 events a year to just 3. Not streaming one of these does not help their cause at all IMO. Streaming generates a lot of interest in an event and I would love to know why they are not doing it anymore?

I did not even see a post about the event on AZ's front page...

Despite all this, some top names who have not competed in a while are there, namely:
Ga Young Kim
Jasmin Ouschan
Xiaoting Pan
Karen Corr

Right before they hit a brick wall last year sometime I think it was, they had a deal with one of the streamers (pooldawg was handling it, i think?). I was pretty excited about that. Now though, it's all dead. And this is sad. I'm *hoping* that ESPN will be filming the quarter finals out at least. But really, I think it's time for the women to just start playing in the men's sandbox if they want to survive as pool players. I like(d) the idea of the WPBA, hell I even contributed to them a few years ago, but it seems like their on limited life support now. :(

Who doesn't like to watch women play!!!

I guess we would rather watch dudes where part of there pre shot routine is to pull there sagging pants or shorts up as to not expose themselves...

I don't think that is the solution. The women did have the only successful U.S. Pro-Pool tour for many, many years. Unfortunately some very bad decisions coupled with a bad economy has put it in this position... what they need is a good, connected promoter. They had this in Peg Ledman and woefully underestimated her importance, thought they could do it themselves... as Dr. Phil might ask "How's that working for ya?" :(

I don't know if it is recoverable but with the talent that is there and the popularity pool has in the rest of the world. I think that a smart promoter could really capitalize on it, that is if the women who run it now will allow that to happen. Sadly I think they have gotten in their own way... in much the same way then men did, which killed their many attempts at a tour.

Thankfully we have virtually none of the above playing on the national stage imo.

Nor will you see hardly any interest at all in the event in this forum, sadly. Look back at the last 4 or 5 events and there is virtually no threads and discussion at all. Lack of streaming is contributing to the lack of interest in what little is left of their Tour. One of the main reasons that was often given is that the casinos don't want to allow the streaming as it will hurt the gate. That is a crock and maybe better contracts should be worked out

I am going there Sat and Sunday, So excited! I will post some pictures of what I see! Any one know what the results of day one are Yet?
Thanks!

about 2/3rds of the first round is completed bracket link is posted in the first post...

I streamed a couple of WPBA events. My take was at the time leadership made decisions based on how they thought things should be and not necessarily how they really were.

I want to say the reason for no streaming in Oregon used to be lack of a proper internet connection.
