There are more men's events because there are still far more men playing than women. How many women are stuck with the kids while their men are out playing?

Also, a bunch of events is not the same as an organized tour. I played in hundreds of bar table and "big" table tournaments between 1966 and 1996. I wouldn't call that a "tour".

In case you haven't noticed, the number of women playing is increasing, and I agree with other posters who say that the lack over-blown egos and arrogance spells success for women's pool...

spells success? Women's pool started dying 10 years ago and hasnt had an uptick since. Period. I love Women's pool but it appears to be over for the time being.
 
So the semis are set. Semi#1 is a rematch from testers, as GYK takes on Jasmin, while in semi#2 is Kelly vs. Siming Chen. 50% chance an Asian makes it to the finals. Kim vs. Ouschan starts at 1pm.

I would've been disgusted with myself, she won the lag for the sudden death game, broke and sank FIVE balls, with a straight in shot at the 3, ran all the balls, and missed the 9, what are the chances?
 
Ga Young Kim takes it in a thriller! One thing I have never seen is balls on every single break. One break in a semi final had 5 balls go down. There was no dry breaks in any semi or final match. Mitch & Ewa did a great job commenting, it made for a nice way to spend a snowy afternoon in the rust belt!

The girl just turned 20. Maybe she should give it up, huh?

Personally, I'm very impressed with her composure and nearly flawless stroke. Really beautiful to watch. And she reminded me of Efren when she smiled after missing that 9-ball.

IMO she will soon be the best, barring something unforeseen.

When I was 20, I hadn't won ANYTHING yet...
