I just wanted to let everyone know that I will have my computer with me at the WPBA tournament starting Thursday in Lincoln City, Oregon. If anyone has any questions about the tournament or who is there and what is going on or how it feels to be there feel free to post them.

Well, I am off to the airport. Take care everyone.
Sarah

Thank you Mike. My first match is at 11 am, as usual. Melissa and I are both having a good tournament so far. We were both awarded at the banquet. Maybe both of us will have a great tournament :)

Sarah

Sarah, who do you play in your first one?

When is the vote for the new board members?

Mike

I play Rachel Hurst. I think she is from Texas but I am not sure.

The vote for new board members was this afternoon.

Knock 'em dead Sarah.

I heard you were voted Rookie of the Year. Congratulations.

Please tell Fran Crimi and Carol Clark I'm rooting for them too.

Hi Sarah , My Son and I wanna wish you the best! Do you remember Mike from Cue Camp? Best Of Luck!

Thank you everyone. Hopefully I can make everyone proud.

Denny, I do remember Mike from Cue Camp. That was quite awhile ago. Please say hello.

Harry, where do you come up with these pictures?? If I have to guess that is from Shootersville in Del Ray Beach??

And thank you for the congrats. I was suprised with the Rookie of the Year award yesterday. Please be sure and also congrat Melissa Herndon on her Tournament Director award as well for her excellence and attitude at tournaments. It was very well deserved for her.

Take care everyone. I will be back to post after some matches.

I was told that when the award was presented to Sarah, it was commented on that she personifies the future of the WPBA and that when she is out on the tournament floor, you can see the excitement in her eyes.

I understand it was a very nice presentation. Congratulations from all of us here at the site.

Mike

I'll take my digital camara and snap some pics of the tourney when I am down there. Only watching the semi's and finals but hopefully I can get some shots of the other players if they haven't left yet.

Thanks again everyone. Things are going good so far. I started out with a 9-1 win. Hopefully I can keep it up.

UWPoolGod....you should be able to find some of the girls lingering around. Everyone is always up for pictures :)

Take care
Sarah

Bad luck against Laura, Sarah.
Here's hopin you get some rolls in your next match..

Well, everyone, I had the classic second round skids. But Laura played well and I looked as if I cut my right arm off and closed both eyes. But hey, it happens to everyone. Plus, I just wanted to get to play alot more matches. Rest is overrated :) Everyone take care, I have to get some stuff done and then play at 2:30.

LOL

Don't feel too bad. Laura Smith has been playing very well for a while now.

Good luck the rest of the way. We want to see you on ESPN.

I started out with a 9-1 win.
Like Gremlin pointed out, Rachel is from Austin, TX. She was awarded the "Most Improved Player" this year in the Hunter Tour. You must have caught her on a bad day... :)

SPetty,

Rachel told me she was very nervous and hoped to get over that soon. She definitely plays good and was having an off match. She is a very nice person and a pleasure to be around and talk to. I hope to see much more of her in the future.

Sarah

Congrats on your win against Carol!!

Is it just me or does anyone else get excited "interacting" with a pro while they progree through a tourney, hehe.

Keep it up Sarah

Well everyone, my run is over. Line Kjorsvik played a great match. She only missed 2 balls and broke and ran everytime it was her break. Very impressive. So I finished 25th, not bad but not great. And as a fun lasting impression of Oregon...I got the flu...woohoo, lucky me. So again, thank you for everything and if you have any questions about what is going on around the tournament feel free to ask. Take care everyone.

Sarah

The first time I saw Line play I thought she had a very smooth stroke. I see she is ranked 24th. I figured she would be a perpetual top 10 after I saw her play. You lost to a good player. It's tough to beat someone who only misses 2 balls in a match.

I see Vicki Paski is doing ok, compared to her usual showing.

Have you seen any non-pool celebs there besides Ed Marinaro?

Thanks for the updates.

Wally in Cincy

Wally,

The only other celeb I have seen is John Ashton. Other than that there are some local celebs from tv and radio that have been hanging around and also participated in the Pro-Am on Wednesday.

Line is playing great and Vicki has been playing well. Good luck to the both of them.
