on Espn....Tiffany Nelson v.s Vivian Villareal

Great Match. Good to see some new faces and hill, hill matches.

Nice out on the last rack.

Thanks for reminding me it was on now, I have it recording on tivo but it was nice to watch it "live" :)

If Allison is on her game, I have a feeling Tiffany may have some problems. I hope its as close a match as the semi. I know its on tape and it already happened but haven't looked who won/lost online :)

Gee, I caught the last half hour of the Fisher/Nelson match, hoping to watch Tiffany shoot. Got to see her play about 6 or 7 safeties and that's it. Allison dominated her.

Poor Tiffany had some really bad luck on her breaks but it wouldn't have mattered in the final match. Allison was in top form and when she plays at that level she's almost unbeatable.

Nice to see Vivian playing well again and on TV. It's been too long. :)

The commentary was horrible. Most of the times the next shot was annouced wrong.

I watched the entire programming. I could not believe I sat through it all but it was a saturday. I hope Tiffany looks at the tape. I think she will see many
unforced errors.
She kicked two rails at the wo ball once when she could have kicked one and gave herself a better shot at getting lucky or leaving Allison tough. It was after a safety by Allison that Lee though was a unbelievable saftey.
She hit the two and pushed it over towards the right side of the table behind the 3 and 8 and tried to bury the cue behind or into the 6. She got a hook but i think most male pros would have locked down the cueball. Nelson went two rails coming into the ball and just pushed it up table with the cue ball tagging along leaving Fisher easy.

I did not thin she shot a horrible shot when she doublekissed the 2 or three
and came back to the other side of the table. Lee acted like the ball was a hanger off the back of the 8. I would have liked to have seen Efrens shot.
I think he might have went rail first above the ball and spun back into it just knicking it and leaving the cue ball below it and very possibily hooked.

Allison played well but I thought the pockets looked huge and she ws not tested. Vivian played very loose which in the end I think hurt her even though at the beginning she was given a couple easy wins from Nelson.

All that tornado twirling with her hands almost made me puke. Its close to the line of being unsportsmanlike at times.

In the earlier match KF has to be feeling sick. She gets BIH with four easy balls and does not get shape on the SECOND ball. Then she took a flyer at a bank while not protecting whitey and left a shot. I think at that point she was in shock. I would have been as well after dogging it on national TV.

I did notice a sort of old friend in the crowd in Tracey Hines Majors or Majors Hines. She must have qualified for the event. We have played a few times
years ago and always were around the same events. Nice person

I agree, but notice how the pawns in the audience were laughing and cheering everytime she did that, talked smack, or just plain talked. They loved it, everyone in the audience loved it, and even the opposing players had a good time with it. This is what pool needs, if more of the men's players were outgoing like this, then maybe pool would have a bigger following.

I agree. Who needs a sport worth watching played to a standard worth watching. Bring on the clowns.

Boro Nut

And an elephant or two.

Oh please yeah just leave the sport the way it is dull and boring. She is good for the sport. It could be just the thing to get people to watch.
Besides being a sport it has to be entertainment.

I missed the program. What is "tornado twirling"? I mean what exactly was she doing?

Vivian sets up a huge fan next to her chair. When she wins a rack, she turns it on full blast, plays a recording of thunder, has someone shut the lights on and off, and starts doing turns all around the table. It's really quite entertaining. :)

I had no problem with her celebrating her good shots on her turn at the table. But when she did her tornado twirling thing when Tiffany missed a shot leaving a hanger in the side was pretty bad. Theres a fine line between being interesting to watch and good for the crowd and good for the game and sharking and being a distraction to your opponent. She seems to always border that line and crosses it at times in my opinion. I think she should should not be at either extreme(totally quiet vs. always vocal) but she should tone it down a bit.

Picture someone twirling their middle finger in the air above their head in a circular motion and saying "Whooptey doo! Whooptey doo!" and thats pretty close to the tornado twirl :)
