WPBA Peoria Updates & Expecting News!

I know with the IPT it is easy to forget that the Women's pro event is underway.
So far all the women coming off the IPT have won but some results are not yet posted.

And now that the "cat is out of the bag" (see highlights) I can officially congratulate Jennifer Barretta and her husband Rick on there first baby due just before Christmas! She is very excited, she let me know a few weeks ago. That makes 5 of my x-teammates that are pregnant!
Oh and it's a boy!

I see no huge upsets so far except Alice Rim and Jennifer losing in the first round. Oh and may be Janet Atwell beating Gerda!

Liz Lovely shot out at vnea junior nationals and the bca junior nationals. She won both national titles! She is probably only 13 and lives in Ohio.

Well she just beat my pal Caroline Pao who is no slouch so she must play good.
 
I left 2nite @ 11. Sarah mada nice comeback. Was down 6-0, wasnt shooting well obviously. Won 9-8. Won the next one 9-5 or something like that. Karen corr was in a good battle on the winners side. 6-6 when i left. VV was struggling lost to kim white? 9-5. Kostainian got some good rolls to move on to face 9mm. Damn shes a hot one too(kost. we already know 9mm is smokin). Allison was in top form winning her matches quite convincingly.
I gotta give these girls some credit. They all seem to be in preatty decent physical shape which tells you something about the sport...That this IS an actual athletic sport. I think most of us have an idea the amount of physical and mental effort that goes into playing this game everyday. But to play it at that level for 12 hours and sometimes more, thats preatty friggin cool in my book. Brackets can be found at www.wpba.com
 
Belinda calhoun is rocking.she beat Ga y kim & Tiffany `rock` Nelson.I consider those as very good wins for Belinda.keep on rocking Girl.

Belinda is one of the old school players that can never be taken for granted. She has beaten many top players and proves when she is in stroke, watch out. I like seeing her do well just because she proves you do not have to be in you r 20's to play this game!

Pamela Treadway seems to be having a great tournament, having knocked out Helena Thornfeld from the B-side.

if i am reading the WPBA website correctly, the final four (TV matches) are as follows:

Kelly Fisher vs. Xiotang Ping (sp)
Monica Webb vs. Karen Corr

now, folks, if this is indeed the way it plays out tomorrow, all i can say is that its as obvious as can be to me. the first year i fail to make it to Peoria what happens??? ALLISON DOESNT WIN!!!

Actually - to be correct it is Pan Xiao Ting, as in China, the family name comes first.

Pan seems to have Allison's number lately. Although I love Allison's game I am kinda glad to see some non-snooker players taking it to her. I wonder as well if the single elimination format is taking it's toll on some players.

Kelly and Val - Team Fury did well so far. A good finish for Val Finnie, who has been struggling on tour a bit. Go KELLY!

Just so you know, Pan played snooker before pool and is pretty good at it. She was never a pro snooker player like Allison and Karen however.
 
it is exciting to see a new face in the final but I am really pulling for Monica. She is due!

I am curious to see how this effects Allison's number one position? Has she even won event this year?

The only tournament Allison has won this year was the Great Lakes Classic.
