WPC 2007 Quarterfinals Cheng VS Superman Gomez match video

You are very welcome
More on the way.... Peach VS. Foldes Semifinal will be on later.....

It is uploading very very slow :(

Lol

well, under a 'free membership' (so you can download), I downloaded part one, and then when I tried part 2, it told me to come back in 480 minutes
(8 hours) before I could do it.

I don't have to ...

it is easy to see how the match is going, everything going Gomez's way. He is playing good, but also getting some breaks, and Kuo made a critical error in the 3rd game on that 7 ball shot by not drawing the cue over to the long rail and back out for the 8. Actually what caused that is he was short on shape after the 6 ball up corner, the cue ball needed to go downtable more, 6-8".

The Taiwanese, in general, do not know their rails as well as the Filapinos do, and also the Filapinos jump better as a whole than the Taiwanese.

Gomez's cross corner bank on the 2 was very good, but other than that, he is just making pretty much elementary outs for that level of competition. The patented soft break is giving him a big edge, just like it did for Alcano last year. Peach also is using the soft break, will be an interesting Final.

This match against Kuo was the 'worse' Gomez match starting from the round of 64 and yet he won it comfortably by 7. Did you watch the match against Feijen 11 to 0 , the one against Chao 10 to 2 and how he came from behind 0 to 4 against Boyes and scored 11 straight racks? He made some spectacular shots in those matches and his positioning skills was superb.

We will be hearing more from this guy whether he wins this WPC or not.

Yep, I saw the Feijen match. I've never seen Gomez play and he is awesome. But the matches you mention just point out what a ridiculous format winner breaks is. There is no precedent for that nonsense in any sport I can think...i.e. where the person/team scoring gets possession of the ball (except for the rare safety in football) or any other form of advantage...like getting to keep serving when you win a game. But even then, the other tennis player at least has a chance to COMPETE!

Fortunately, the WPC is one of the last major pro tournaments that still uses that nonsensical format.

Just IMHO.

They had the alternate break format last year and there were a lot of complaints against it. The general consensus is that a lot of people prefer the winners break format but of course, you cannot please everybody.
