Is there anyone out there who has news on when or if this will take place I just find it strange that there has been no comment from either the WPA or Matchroom since september, its one of the most prestegious events on the calendar yet nothing has been confirmed either way.

My prediction based on nothing-WPC 9 Ball 2008 will not be held.

In 2009 Matchroom will grab the bull by the horns and bring the event back to Cardiff in June or July.

PS-If you want to escape the summer heat, Cardiff is the place to be. There are no dog days in Cardiff. In July the average hgh temp is under 70 degrees.

interesting theory on cardiff nostroke but why would matchroom bring the wpc back there if the phillipines is the supposed "spiritual home of pool", also why would they put the date back to June or July I thought they were happy with it being in november?.

in the land of snooker, Cardif showed huge support for past events , I'm all for WPC going back and Matchroom taking over

Phillipines needs to resolve their internal bs, it may be a pool mecca but they need to get their shit together

Well they missed November and just a few years ago it was held in the summer so the logical thing imo is to revert back to that so that there isnt a full 2 years between championships.

The Phillipines pool scene is dysfunctional for the time being. Matchroom knows Cardiff like the back of their hand and in this semi emergency, it is the path of least resistance. It's also wishful thinking on my part as I always enjoyed Cardiff and it's an easy trip for me.
