Wrap Question

I have found a great sneaky pete at the Super Billiards Expo last year. I just loved the balance and feel in my hand. I did not like the ferrulle and had it changed. The ferrulle lenght is meucci length and I like the 3 cushion size or predator size ferrulle. Needless to say I can't hit worth 2 cents and have to have a new shaft made. The sneaky does not have a wrap on it nor does it have a finish. I was wondering if there was a way to not have to turn the handle section down to add a wrap. Maybe make the finish thick enough and enough coats to match the extra level of the wrap?

Some may say why worry about the extra material? I just know once something is the way you like it and then you tinker with it you can't go back and put the material back on!

Anyway, one thought was to put on a Tiger stacked leather wrap and let the cue look like a tennis racket with tape around the wrap area. That way I do not lose material and can remove the wrap at a later date if I like.

I have been brain storming on this one for a while and since I am NO CUE MAKER. I just thought I would ask! Thanks for the ideas and input!

Sincerely,

You didnt mention what kind of wrap you like. If you just want something to break up the look of the butt and have a rubbery kind of grip, there are slip on sleeves that you can buy for under 5 bucks. They usually sell them for house cues (one piece) but would probably work in your situation. Muellers used to carry them (havent looked lately) and other supply houses.
They come in a variety of colors, and are easily removable if you dont like it. Seems to me to be the cheapest way to get where you want to go.
