Wrap Shoulders

Hi fellow cuemakers i learned some think most of you already know but i will show it anyway to cut shoulders at ends of wrap and not lift clear coat use a single point tool that has been honed with a diamond stone make first cut about .025 from shoulder turn chuck by hand slowely feed tool in till tape starts to lift then move over to edge of shoulder and make second cut feed in tool intill it just touches the handle it will leave a nice clean sharp corner.
I use to use a file but some times the clear would white spot on the edge of the shoulder

This is a new cue the design is called friendship from the Hupa tribe the owner of it has a tattoo arm band of the same design

Just curious Pete, but why didn't you cut the wrap groove, at the same time as you took the last cut on the butt of the cue. That way you are sure that it is perfectly concentric to the diameter of the butt? Also when you apply the clearcoat the butt, the handle area will have the same amount of clear on it. Just a thought...JER
