hey all,
well i recently bought a Meucci HOF-2 cue butt. but, i've never been able to play with wrapless cues, as most of you know Meucci clear-coats their wraps. i was wondering what the price range was to have the wrap changed, in a solid black Linen or a black leather wrap? also, would the wrap be flush?

i also was wondering about matching the ring work on an OB-1 shaft. what would the price range on that be? would it be better to get an partial shaft and have someone match it or buy the 5/16x18 in a black collar?

thanks to everyone in advance for your feedback,

manuel

I can rewrap you cue with linen for $35 and leather for $55 and up. I can also match an OB1 shaft for $200 using my blanks.

Manuel,
There are many C/Ms here that could do the work but I doubt many would try to beat Ryan's price. You got your best option with your first quote.

I'm assuming that you would want a NON- clear coated wrap?? Normally that involves stripping the butt, remove old wrap, refinish, build up wrap groove alittle, and then wrap it. For the price, if Rat quoted it correctly, you will never find anyone to beat that. And he does awsome work. Good luck,
Dave

i agree with the others, what option are you waiting on.that furst offer was the nuts.you might find a used OB-1 for $150 somewhere but most guys are going to charge $40-50 to change the collar, and $35 for re-wrapping a Meucci is like stealing.

Sorry but I don't understand?? Are you saying that $35 for re-wrapping a cue to much or too little?

I paid $35 to have a cue re-wrapped 30 years ago. I charge $50 to re-wrap a cue today.

Good Cuemaking,

I think masonh is saying the $35 price is low considering what it takes to do the Meucci. At least that's the way I read it. Ray

hey guys, just to clearify, i'm not looking for a lower price then what Ryan qouted me, i know that he has the lowest price and does probably the best work on wraps. i was just looking to see if i could get a similar price somewhere closer to my Los Angeles, Ca based home. thats all. i will probably end up sending to Ryan, just not sure if i want a leather or linen wrap.

Any suggestion? leather or linen?

thanks,
manuel

sorry for the misunderstanding.

Leather or linen depends on you. I would go with a smooth black leather wrap on a HOF-2 for 2 reasons. 1 is smooth black leather plays like a dream, and 2 is it will be aesthetically awesome. Even with shipping you won't get better value than ryan anywhere else unless some great cuemaker owes you a favor.
