WTB 3/8 10 Tap

Unfortunately, On the web, Atlas charges about minimum $12 ship + $5 handling fee,,,,even for tiny item,,,, not sure if they would do any better over the phone.
 
Atlas apparently can't be bothered with small orders and gouge with shipping and handling to discourage them. Either that or they have a revolving red light that goes off everytime some poor bastard places a 15.00 order and is hit with 15.00 shipping and handling (so they can do their special dance). Then again, they are probably using it to make up for the 150,000.00 fine they were given for selling ivory to other countries..


Spend a few grand and they will send you some caramel popcorn though!!!:thumbup:
 
Unfortunately, we all have to pay the same price when ordering a 3/8-10 tap. I have three, a normal 3/8-10, a normal 3/8-10 that I ground to be a bottoming tap, and then a piloted .308 tap.To my knowledge, and with alot of searching, no one else makes/sells them for less. You may be able to borrow one from someone for this one time project, but if you damage it, expect to reimburst the full amount. Or send someone the item you need tapped and save yourself the trouble and/or price.

Yep all the guys here are right. I used to ask for cheep stuff all the time and quite a bit of stuff came my way, but taps was the end point. They are really expensive and only atlas has them for sale. I tried to wait to see if some one will sell true set but these are like gold and no one will sell them. My advice just purchase the tap from atlas use it then post it here for sale minus the shipping cost that atlas charges. You will sell it in a heartbeat for 45$. So you only loose 15$ but at least you get your job done. Or you can just send the piece to one of this guys and they will do it for you for a small fee.
