As the title states I'm looking for a new case. I would like it in leather or exotic skin and I would prefer a tube style interior with at least one pocket for storage.

I do not want anything that John Barton is affiliated with.

Post up what you have and please include photos and prices.

Thanks,
'Mash

$250 shipped! Talisman Tribal 3x5 in Black Soft Nappa Leather as good as new pockets are big and most efficient than any other cases. I have most custom cases. Pm me your email and I'll send you High Resolution Pics.

Sorry, it's not big enough. I need at least a 3x6.

Dennis Swift makes good cases.

OnQCase makes good cases.

King Customs in Canada makes great cases.

Whitten makes great cases.

Two Shades Leather makes very nice cases.

Castillo Leather Goods makes good cases.

Any of these folks would be more than happy to take your order. Not me though. Between you and I it's NO SOUP FOR YOU. Happy hunting and I hope you find the case of your dreams.

Well John, it finally happened..... you made me laugh! Got to love the soup Nazi!!!

In regards to your suggestions, I thank you for the effort but I've ruled out several of thos makers already.

I ordered a "custom" case from Dennis and aside from the fact that he didn't make it to my specs, I wasn't crazy about the end product. I have seen several of Dennis' cases and I was excited when I ordered it but not so much when it arrived. I ended up sending it back per his request.

Whitten does make great cases and I spoke at length with Joe a few days ago about a custom order. The only issue I have with the Whittens is how the cue is held in the case. I like it when the cue is held tight like an Instroke.

I haven't liked any of the designs I have seen from Castillo but I haven't seen too many so who knows.

I disd speak with Juan from Two Shades and I like their work so I haven't ruled them out.

The others I'm not to familiar with.

Anyway, thanks for the input.

I am sure I can get you a counterfeit J.Flowers 3x6 that I can guarantee you 100% that I had nothing to do with. No guarantees on what the quality will be like.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW SOMEONE WOULD RULE OUT A BARTON CASE??? I KNOW THAT I OWN 6 AND A 7TH IS IN THE WORKS. THESE ARE ALL OF THE HIGHEST QUAILITY AND THE CRAFTSMANSHIP IS SECOND TO NONE OF ALL THE OTHER CASES I OWN. IF I WASN'T SO LAZY I WOULD TAKE A FEW PICTURES AND OFFER YOU A CASE.GOODLUCK IN YOUR SEARCH AND ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR WEEKEND.....JEFF:thumbup:

Thanks for the post Jeff.

It's not that I don't think John is capable of making a good case. In fact, I'm sure he is based on all the satisfied customers he has. It's just that John and I don't exactly agree on many things and I prefer to spend my money in support of someone that shares the same ideas and values as I.

Plus I can't remember seeing too many of his cases with a tube style interior. Most of the samples I have seen have a stitched fabric interior. There was one I found listed that I really liked but if I ever had a problem with it and needed to get a repair I can't see that going well because of our past.

Now i understand.......well as you both have good reps on this site i hope that at some point in the near future you two bury the hatchet. Goodluck with your search and enjoy the weekend

Oh come on. IF you were my customer then I would take care of you just like I do with all my customers. You can ask around and you find that I suck at sending out small items but when it comes to repairing my cases I will spend whatever it takes including making and shipping a brand new case at my expense if that's what has to happen.

Plus, you can easily see on my website that we do tube cases and I am sure you know that I created the Instroke interior.

I know it's probably a shock to you but I have several customers on this forum whose "values" are different from mine. We can argue all day about this or that but they know full well that I stand behind my products 200%.

My only issues with you has to do with what I consider to be a major faux pas on your part which I think you should try to look at from my perspective and the fact that you took a cheap shot at me and Sterling over the J.Flowers brand name.

Otherwise I don't really care about you. As you can see I don't play the kiss-ass game to get business. I am the ONLY case maker who lists my competitors on my website and even features them.

Where is Rusty Melton's website? How about Marc Turcasso's?

Well, until they get one of their own you can find them here in my other case makers gallery http://jbcases.com/gallery/index.php?g2_itemId=9833

So I am confident of where I stand in life and what I make. For you to say I would deliberately not stand behind my work just because we don't see eye-to-eye on something is ludicrous and is indicative of the perspective differences that are the reason why I have been critical of you.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I respect your right to vote with your dollars and stand on your principle. But don't try to put such fearmongering speculation out there about how you think I would mix business and pleasure to exact some sort of retribution on you should you own one of my cases.

In fact that would be about the stupidest thing I could possibly do. And I may be a hothead but I am not stupid. What better "marketing" would it be to take care of customers despite disagreements?

A lot of you seem to have this opinion that if someone sells crap on here then they shouldn't be allowed to have any opinions that are against the grain. You seem to think you all know so much about business and that if someone is acting HUMAN and being involved in conversations and not always agreeable then he must be losing business. That's nonsense.

In fact the BEST people to do business with are the people who tell it like it is and don't pander and kiss ass. Those are the people you can count on to get it done and to do it right and who make it right when they need to.

Anyway, again, good luck with your search. Really you should just buy an Instroke because that is the best tube interior next to ours and the price is right. Of course I founded Instroke and even though I haven't been involved with them since 2003 that connection might still be too much for you. ;-)

John, I think you misinterpreted the comment about you standing behind your case. Its not that I don't think you will, in fact I'm sure you would. But can you imagine the conversation we would have should we disagree? Lol

Anyway, I already own an Instroke. I'm looking for something custom.

Do you still have that case I posted the link to?

Sure,

The conversation would be like this, "I am so sorry that the case is broken, let me arrange to get it taken care, either I will have it sent to someone who can fix it that I trust or I will make you a new one and have you send the broken one to one of my dealers, all at my cost of course."

And I would probably toss in a little barb, like, did you call Matt yet? With a smiley face behind it like this :-)

Because that's how I roll. It really takes a LOT to get me so upset that I don't see the human value in the person I am dealing with. Honestly I can truthfully say that there is only one person on the planet that I would probably feel a bit of joy were he to die. Everyone else, and by that I mean EVERYONE I have ever had a cross word with on these forums is welcome at my table. My best friend is arch-conservative and disagrees with me on just about every topic in life.

I do not have that case that you linked to. Almost all of of our cases are custom jobs and especially the tube cases.

However if you post to the forum www.billardaktuelle.de you might find the guy who has it and he might be willing to sell it.

One thing you could consider is trying to find a cheap used Instroke and salvaging the interior. Then send that to your favorite case maker and have them build a case around it. I am sure that Two Shades could do this. OR better yet send your current Instroke to them so that they can study how to do the interior and the tube lengths, because that is important to the way the case works, and let them duplicate it with whatever shell you want.
