hello cj;
sorry for the delay in getting pics to you - was very sidetracked with holiday related duties.
meanwhile, I think I need to read more closely, or at least, comprehend better.
The brick I have is a pretty wild one. anyone who has ever seen it thinks its absolutely stunning. I agree. :wink:
However, it has a genuine lizard wrap and I just reread you prefer wrapless but I may have something you'd consider along those lines, too. Something very s-t-r-o-n-g!
The brick was made using a very desirable john davis blank, and quite a colorful one, at that, featuring pink ivorywood buttsleeve and points into a bocote forearm. You can check the first two pics below.
A perfect alternative for you might be the sugartree I've included pics of as well. I know you said you've been away from the game for 10 years so not sure if you are aware of this cuemaker, Eric Crisp of Sugartree. You can do a quick search on here and you'll see how highly prized his cues are for their playability as well as his trademarked use of incredible wood combinations. Also, the woods he ised for his shafts are considered by most to be the best there is. Period.
The sugartree I have that might interest you is a wrapless cue featuring the amazing combination of deep-brown highly-figured bocote into a purpleheart forearm. The bocote points are done to perfection and they play tricks with your eyes (in a good way) as they blend with the purpleheart front. This cue is a stone-cold player! I bought it a couple of years ago from Jay Helfert for $1200. It's in the same excellent condition as I received it and I'd sell it to you for $775 shipped and insured to conus.
merry Christmas!
let me know if interested.
best,
brian kc
