Just like what the title says, im looking for a butterfly cue. Im looking for a fancier one, prefer a ivory joint but not a must, one that is nice and colorful. Ive seen a couple nice PFD ones but they were alittle out of my price range ($2500 tops). Let me know if you have one or know of one.

thanks!

Pat Diveney

I've got a fancy cocobola butterfly splice Pat Diveney cue with an ivory joint and radial pin with invory stitching ringwork, two shafts with ivory ferrules.....I'd ship it to you for $800 ;)

fanciest Diveney butterfly cue

I have this cue .. it is in brand new condition. $2,500 cash will get you this one. Pat will not make this cue for less than $3K according to him.

The forearm is beautiful, highly figured Cocobolo with 4 Thuya Burl - Maple veneered points with 4 Ebony, Snakewood and Maple, full Butterfly Splices. The wrap is beautiful, Genuine, Full Quill Ostrich Hyde. The butt sleeve is the mirror image of the forearm. The Joint, Buttcap, Ringwork and Ferrules are all solid, grained Ivory. It comes with 2 high grade white Maple shafts, one with a Moori medium tip and the other with a Moori Quick III tip.
The cue is straight and true with both shafts. The joint pin is G-10 by NASA. It is signed and dated " P Diveney 06 " in gold.

The pictures don't do this cue justice. It is even more beautiful in person. It is 58" long and weighs in at just under 20oz.

Look into Paul Fanelli, the godfather of modern butterflies. He has a few ready to go in his shop, I believe...

When I saw that cue, I loved it so much, I had Pat build me this one with old growth shafts. Pat makes an awesome playing cue. Mine will never be for sale, I like it to much to sell it. It is my playing cue

If I were you, I would jump on this cue, it's a beautiful cue and I'm sure it plays as good as mine does. Awesome cue Jazz, I can't believe you are selling this cue.

I know Paul Drexler has a butterfly cue that's ready to go. It's ebony with 4 Ivory points up and down with the butterflies inbetween, I believe they're Ivory, Lapis, and possibly Turquoise from bottom to top. The cue has a leather wrap and ivory joint, radial pin I believe, can't remember what the buttcap is, but I think you may be able to get it for at or under your price range if you're ready to pull the trigger.

Best of luck.

Wow, I never imagined I would get this sort of response already. Some very nice butterflys for sale!

Thanks for the info, Im waiting to hear back from him. I was bidding on a PFD just like the one your describing on ebay about a week ago but the seller pulled the auction with less then a day to go.

Paul, I sent you an email regarding pictures of the cue. thanks!

Holy S*it!

What a gorgeous collection of cues!!! I'm a wrapless freak who loves butterflies and my second choice of handles is leather. Sure glad I don't have a pocketful of cash or I would empty it NOW for these cues. I did not realize Diveney was doing this kind of work. About the only cues of his I have seen down this way ( Hollywood/Miami) have been his sneakys with the butterfly slice in them. Thanks for sharing the pics.

I have seen Jazz' cue in person and it is gorgeous. The ostrich wrap is amazing.

Billy Webb aka Spyderweb buttefly cue

Here's another

You sure are making a tough decision for me, if only it had an ivory joint and butt cap itd be a no brainer. Paul sent me pics of the one he has for sale. Im torn between this one and the one of pauls, let me think about it for a couple days then get back with you.. this is tough..
