I have seen a few TAR videos of Sam's on the Case and some of the players talk about cue tip protectors to keep the chalk from the case walls and hence off the shaft. I tried looking on here for them by various names, "tip protectors", "Cue tip protectors", etc. Maybe I don't know the correct terminology? Maybe nobody makes them for sale and are just made by owners for their own cues? I dunno.
I suspect if it's a commercially available item it can't be too expensive. And a great way to stop the chalk from getting on the shaft when you put the shaft in the case tip-down as I do. And no, I don't want to put them in tip-up. I know that's the easy way, but I am hoping someone out there can give me a link to where I can buy them, or if someone wants to make a few bucks and has them for sale, please let me know. And maybe you can school me on what these things are officially called.
