WTB Custom Cue

Interesting points. I know it is possible to have both in one cue. I haven't rushed to buy anything and have been looking for over 6 months. I only named a few cue makers that I have heard good things about. Every person is different and is going to say this guy makes good cues or that guy makes good cues etc. I agree that it is possible 1-2 years I will be looking to buy one IF I do not like how the cue I purchase looks or feels. I can not predict that. I have looked at all the types on your list. Several of those cues (or at least the cues I like from those types) are out of my price range. I am definitely not going to go with a plane jane that hits good, I am ready for more of the wow factor in the look. That is a good idea to post cues that I like to see what is similiar that is out there. I will have to maybe look into that tomorrow or late this afternoon. Thank you for your reply.

Too bad you're not interested in a wrapless cue. I have a pretty cool 1-of-a-kind older Kikel made of red palm in forearm and buttsleeve; black palm in handle (has a dark side and a light side); ebony points; white ivory in joint, ferrules, and all inlays (not sure about the veneered rings but Kikel says yes but can't accept pictures so not sure). I recently had it refinished by Ernie Martinez and it's in really good condition.

Here are a few pictures:

PM me if interested. And just a comment, if you've played with a Meucci that has been refinished over the linen wrap, that's the same as playing with a wrapless cue in my opinion. You never touch the wrap in that case. Good luck with your search.

I also have a josswest with a leather wrap made in 2000 but it has very little ivory - it's a flat-faced radial pin with a stainless collar...but very awesome cue.

Hi Swami4u,

Yes, Dave's cues play very well. A very good player in Denver area, Bill Skinner, only plays with Kikels and would have bought this cue in a heart beat if he didn't have an order in with Dave. He hit a few balls with it and loved it - it played like his.

I agree with you about the ringwork, it's very nice and well executed, coupled with the wood combination it is just a cool, unusual looking cue that you don't see everyday. I only posted this because I thought it was close to what the poster was asking for - except for being wrapless.

Doug, the QB custom is very nice looking. Not quite the design I am looking for, but still a very nice cue! I do want a wrap, either leather or lizzard. The search continues! Thanks for all your replies.

I am looking for a custom cue between the price range of around $2000-$3500. It needs to be new and unused. I am a fan of ivory, but not tinted yellow ivory, more of the brighter white type. I apologize if I am going to be picky, but just curious what is out there in this range! I have a few ideas I have tossed around in terms of designing my own cue with Worminator that I may still go with, but just checking to see what is out there first. Thanks

We just obtained a pristine 8-pt Josswest from a collection...check it out in our new listings: http://www.cueaddicts.com/newcues.html

It's a pretty big cue for this price range and I'm sure he's willing to negotiate some. If interested, please contact Matt directly on this one....(423-396-9255) or ridingnthedirt@hotmail.com

Thanks again guys for all the replies! Just to reiterate what I am looking for... I would like the cue new/unused. I would like an ivory joint (no unilock joint), ivory butt, and ivory in the top and bottom of the cue. I would also like either a leather or lizard wrap. Even though I have seen several good designs with multi colors I am trying to limit that to not include color combinations with (blue, green, purple, orange). Here are a couple of examples of cues that I like (maybe with a bit different of design, but the style that I like).

The second Mottey on this page.

This Dishaw cue with changing the butt to be ivory, and putting a wrap on it....I would change the design a bit, but sometimes brown and ebony really make the ivory stick out.

Joe Callalucas most two recent cues that were in the ICCS show were very nice looking as well. Hope this helps and wish me luck!
