Denali break cues

I recently received a new break cue from Bob Flynn at Denali Cues. Bob was very easy to work with, knowledgeable about helping you get what you want from the cues he makes, communication was excellent, and he delivered on time - nearly to the day of estimate.
The cue is a purpleheart forearm, full spliced into a Gaboon Ebony handle, with a purple heart butt sleeve, and a purpleheart shaft. I wanted a total weight (forward balanced) of 19.3 ounces. .850 Joint, 3/8-10 G10 pin, G-10 ferrule, Samsara tip (trimmed to 1/8" height), 13.1 mm.
Let me repeat... A PH/Gaboon Ebony full splice w/ PH shaft at 19.3 ounces - no small feat.
What Bob delivered to me - and on time - was a break cue that nailed every spec on the nuts. 14.1 oz butt - 5.2 oz shaft = 19.3 oz total - nicely forward balanced for breaking. It has the feel of leading you thru, not running you downhill.
The fit & finish are good. There was a minor finish issue at the joint that Bob made right immediately - including reimbursing me (on his own) for the return shipping.
This cue hits HARD. I'd been using a Samsara made X Breaker butt w/ an OB Break shaft, I like that set up a lot, and have good, controlled, power & accuracy with it.
The Denali PH/Ebony FS, combined with the purpleheart shaft, is so lively that I spent some time getting the extra power back in control. The PH shaft doesn't seem to bleed any energy, and it feels a bit like a spring as the cue ball takes off. I believe you get more energy for less effort. But be forewarned, you better keep your mechanics under control because this combo will get out from under inaccurate hits. Unforgiving for those who want to choose uncontrolled brawn over applied brain.
This is a very good product, made by a very high quality individual who cares about your satisfaction & his commitments.
Highly recommended.
