WTB : Good playing cue

Hi one of my friends is always on these forums and ive been here non stop for the past week looking for a good playing cue. He bought a Carolina Custom and that started my search for something new. Right now i am playing with a 5280 sneaky pete on a 314^2 shaft and moori medium tip. I have been playing with this same shaft and tip for about 6 years now and am looking for maybe something similar. I have looked into good play cues on the forums but from what i can tell i cant afford these :frown:

I have been saving for a few months now and am looking for a good custom cue around 500 bucks.

I like simple designs with maybe rings near the top and bottom of the butt with any joint but steel and any wrap including no wrap but linen.

Thanks much and i hope to hear from you all. It seems most people that post here will be able to give me great advice.

Man, i have to pass on this one...........I was this - close to buying it!
If you want a flat out unreal playing cue, without a lot of flash, i can honestly
say you wont do much better then this cue for around 550

I love my Jacoby and Espiritu cues. Olivier is really solid, though tends to run a little pricier than 500. I'm getting some cues from Jim Baxter for right in your price range that are going to completely unique, and stunning cues with tons of neat little perks, multiple shafts per cue, custom cue protectors, etc.

Jim Baxter is a great guy to deal with. SUPER friendly and helpful, very patient for people who like to take their time making sure things are right, and enthusiastic to get it right with you.
 
good playing cue

I make plain jane and fancy sneaky pete cues starting at $150.00 to $750.00 if you are looking for something in the middle let me know. they all hit a ton and control the cue ball with ease. Dan Axe

How about a Pierce?!

I got this cue from Bamacues here on AZ about a month and half ago, a terrific guy and member. I played with it for about an hour then straight to my case. Let me know what you think. The pictures are from Joe when he posted it for sale. I can take some updated pictures too, just let me know.

I have a DP, radial pin, two shafts( one is 314 ) pressed linen (looks great) feels and looks like leather, 18.5 oz and in excellent condition. 550 shipped.

I've played with a Josey fancy SP before. It's not really to my liking, feels kinda like a solid bar stick, similar to a Jerry Pechauner. Something people will say like a glass rod, but pretty stiff.

If you have a friend around who owns such a cue, try them out first. :D

dunno if i like stiff shafts or not cause ive only really played with like 4 cues. players, lucasi, mcdermott and predator. is it similar to any of these?
