WTB McDaniel Cue--"Kling" Model

Good luck. Bill made 3 of them. The first one still resides with the original owner,Jack Marsh, master table restorer. He bought George Rood's Kling and the guy who brokered the deal designed the cue and had Bill make the cue for Jack.It has an Ivory joint and butt cap,the other 2 have stainless steel joint and Ivorine 3 butt cap.One of those was sold at Valley Forge and the other locally. This cue, although a seemingly simple box cue,is in fact a very intricately executed masterpiece. Ebony,Ivory,Cocobolo, and MOP all used to faithfully represent the Kling(Johnny Kling, early 1900's Chicago Cubs catcher).I have the only Ebony and Ivory Kling, and it is not for sale. You can call Jess @731-424-4455,of World Class Cues, and he will make you one. Jess and Tommy bought Bill's shop and rights to all his designs and we just yesterday were talking about this very cue. Hope this has helped. HEH

Thanks--
I had a chance to buy one of the originals, and I just didn't--now that I started collecting more kling items I thought I would just add one to my collection--again/thanks for all the info--

Are they marketing his designs as McDaniels or are they using another name for them? I have tried to search for a web site and haven't any luck. I have three Mcdaniels and love his work. I met Bill at the DCC a couple of years ago and he tried to buy back one of his cues. He said he didn't make them with veneers anymore and this one has mitered veneers at the bottom of the points with ivory spears. The but has ivory ovals with 14k gold diamonds in each oval. The BEM is excellent. I also have a cue that resembles the cue for sale on AZ. Mine does not have the spears on top of the points. I have seen several like the one on AZ. There are at least three like it in Louisville,KY. I have seen only one like mine. Hunter

McDaniel cues are not made anymore. Jess and Tommy are just starting to put out their own cues. The tenative name is "World Class Cues",and these are the guys that did the actual work for McDaniel. Their cues will be as pure as Bill's.I will post a photo of a cue I just received from them.

Repair Work ???

Do they do any repair work at this time on Bill's cues ??? I need a Wrap done and wanted to order 2 new custom shafts to fit a Mcdaniel Peacock
cue I have.

Thanks......Paul

Hi HEH,

If memory serves me, I bought the cue on Ebay 4-5 years ago. I remember that the deal went smooth. By the way, the pictures that Anthony Beeler posted are my cue! I just checked the birdseye, and verified it without a doubt.

Will :) :) :p :p ;)
