This is as nice as it gets in custom J/B.
A 2003 Andy Gilbert just re-finished in April 2010.
2003 was the very last yr. that he made his J/B cues out of ebony like this one is. I have had a new triangle installed & I have played with it a little with a Dennis Searing shaft I had. No nicks, blems,etc. The shaft is smooth but does have some chaulk dust on it from before I got it. I didn't want to change the original shaft diameter so I left it alone. 58" around 19.1 oz.

2009 Gilbert J/B
I've got a 2009 Gilbert J/B, brand new never hit a ball with it.
Southwest style cue with beautiful rings.
Bacote wood into Birdseye maple (normally he uses purple heart into BEM, but this one was special which is why I picked it up).
Shaft weights 115.3 grams (4.067 oz).
Butt weighs 408.8 grams (14.42 oz).
Total weight is 524.1 grams (18.49 oz).
Shaft diameter is 13mm.
$475 shipped.

Nice Andy Gilbert 8-pointer j/b cue
I have a really nice 60" Andy Gilbert Ebony 8-pointer. It has a leather wrap, Ivory Hoppe ring, and two full shafts. One shaft has a phenolic tip, the other a layered tip. Andy said he isn't making any jump/break cues in ebony anymore, but if he were to make this cue new, it would cost at a minimum $1200. I wasn't really looking to sell it, but I don't really need this nice of a j/b cue. If you are interested, I would sell it for $850 or maybe work a trade depending on what you have to trade. I also have a Ernie Martinez j/b with a wrap and one shaft you could have for $400.

This is not a production cue. However, it was not made in the USA, and I do not know the maker's name. I do know that it is the best of 20 or so J/Bs I've ever hit, including the Sledgehammer, as far as consistency and solid feel. I will sell only because I need the $ to buy my dream player/collector, which is for sale, right here on AZ. 18.70 oz. total, 4.15 shaft, 14.55 butt, and feels well balanced, not shaft heavy as you may think.
