WTB: old adam cue

Thats cool

Dave: I PM'd you about the cue. You should check out the Kenny Murrell on Wolfbite.com where he did sort of a tribute cue to this style. It's actually better looking in person. :R:

Many of the cues are exactly the same with the exception of the cues pin which is 5/16-14 not 5/16-18 like the originals. One thing though that is better than the originals is the finishing work, and the quality ofthe finish itself.

Have a good day!

Actually, the 5/16x14 joint is better for me since I play with OB shafts and that's what mine are now for my McDaniel. On the Ritz remake, it appears to have only 3 veneers (looking at the closeup pic on Billiard Warehouse). Ebony point, red, green, black. You're probally right on with the overall quality of the cue though.

Thanks for taking your time to reply since I don't have access to check out all the cues.

For the money, Those are super nice cues!
But, there are a lot of subtle differences from the new to the originals. an example would be that the ah/26 monte carlo had matching colored veneers in the butt sleeve and forearm. Where the reproduction does not use color in the butt sleeve. The stacked ring of matching veneers is absent on the ah/12, etc etc... All of them are different, I am sure they wanted no confusion, or scammers selling them as mint originals. Thank god! But the quality is very impresive for sure.

The eldorado on billiardcue.com, is VERY BADLY warped. not just the shaft, its warped badly in the forearm as well.
Dick will negotiate in most cases, and in my opinion,he should. Any way, He seems to be a pretty nice guy, from my experience.
Just a couple of quick questions for my enlightenment.

What constitutes VERY BADLY warped?

How would you know the condition of this particular cue?

Just picked one up(2nd from right),and I love it-Craig is right on as usual.

Did you get the AH-12 Century cue? I love the design of that cue.

Dealio!

Just wanted to say thanks to Taiko for the deal on the Adam Ritz cue. It's even nicer than described and he was great with the communication. Thanks too to Krbsailing for the hook up with Taiko. I owe you. :R:

Dick,

As you may remember, I bought that cue, And sent it back.
very badly warped is a condition where as a cue is no longer a pool cue, But mereley a decoration. That cue falls into that catagorey. The shaft is totaly shot, warped in many directions, and the forearm is warped badly between the wrap and the joint near the tip of the points. Man was I bumbed!! I sold my hemstetter 86-14 to get it:(

Jayman.

They have reissued that exact cue.

Looking for an old Adam cue like a model 'El Dorado' or 'Ritz' (or of that era) that is in need of repairs or just needs a complete restoration. I see one Billiardcue that looks pretty nice but it's a bit pricey for it's condition. Unless someone knows if Mr.Abbot will take offers. ~Thanks

You will find it on ebay with any luck.
Nick :)

Those are super nice cues!
But... They are not the same, and for good reason. but if you like the clasic cues and modern technology, they are the deal of a life time! They play lights out, and have a sh*t load of inlays with real charicter in their design as well.
Adams made sure that they would not be mistaken for an original. but they are one of the coolest line of cues to come along in quite a while!!

I am glad that you're happy with the cue Rex. You got a great deal because I got a great deal from Ken (krbsailing).:D

You Know, Adams is remaking those cues and some other models currently. I have sold them, and they are a real value for money. You may want to think of one of the new ones, with the refinish of an old one a new will cost less.

Here are some photo's of the currently made models!!!

Oh, and they hit as good as they look. They are really very well made, (Same Quality as The Balabushka's).

Good Luck
Hi. I recently came into the original version of the cue in your picture at far right with the unusual ring work & snowflake and dot MOP inlays at the butt. Any idea as to what the model number or name they gave this cue is? Mine is the cue at right in the pic I attached and the other two are some sort of imports I suspect. Bought them all at a garage sale for $9.00 total. The Adam needs a wrap, but I have a well known cue maker friend putting another matching linen wrap on it next week. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mike
