The delrin you're looking for isn't old. You can buy it at any plastics supply company.

You might also ask about Acetal. Basically, Delrin is a tradename for a particular brand of Acetal.

I had an OLD Mali in my hands last year that had a slightly translucent delrin buttcap. Looked great!

Just so you know I have some of this and would be willing to send you a few inches so you dont have to buy a whole rod...
