Just like the post says. These r the things I'm looking to buy, may even trade. Funds are in paypal. Looking for the best deal. If there are used but in great working order that's fine, a website would also be good. As for the hand leath system I know it comes standard 2 but I would like a set of 4 I think they come in green... Thanks.... :thumbup:

Tools for selling

Hi Dom,
The calipers are just under 10 bucks on ebay.
A postal scale is app 10 bucks.
Pick up a cloth tape measure, like a tailor uses to avoid scratches from metal tape measure.Dollar store.
If you need the Pocket lathe system, here you go.I got mine some time ago and they were a little less back then,

For about 45 bucks, you can get all you asked for.If you want a link to the 9 dollar calipers, call me manana.

I will call you on caliper, and will go to ebay for scale and 99. Store for tape measure not metal... Thanks all...

If you wait for the next ad from Harbor Freight, they're always selling their digital calipers for under $10. Same as all the ones on the bay, but no waiting 2 weeks for delivery.

It's too bad the Office Depot no longer has their own name brand digital scale. I got one of those for under $20, and it has an 11 pound capacity, and shows in ounces or grams.. close within a tenth of an ounce. I tried to find something similar on eBay, but didn't see it.

Phade.. try to get one with less than 15 pounds as a maximum capacity. The higher the capacity, the greater the margin for error.

I know you are probably already hooked up but I feel compelled to share this link featuring high quality, non China, calipers, etc.

Starrett (USA), Mitutoyo (JAPAN), and Brown & Sharpe (SWISS) avail.

Thx!

best,

Very nice choices.. but just a "bit" more expensive than the $10-$20 ones =) I have a beautiful Mitutoyo dial caliper, but had to get a cheapo digital because I was tired of having to convert everything from standard to metric. I've found that the cheapo digital is within 1/100mm or so. Being that we're dealing with cue shafts, 12.98mm and 12.97mm is not really worth the price of a quality set of calipers.

I agree with Chris,and I would like to add 2 things;

1-Yes,Harbor Freight is 9 bucks,no waiting, but what about your time, fuel, etc. The ones on ebay showed up in my mail box after a few clicks and a couple weeks, while I was playing pool somewhere :)

2-When I take measurements at home with my "cheapie" set,and then I go to Dennis Searings shop for repair work, and he uses his multi hundred dollar set, both of our measurements are extremely close. And if you've seen, his shop,it's is like a freakin NASA space lab.I would say that for most of us,the cheapies are fine.If you are a cue builder or something like that,of course get the real deal.Kickin' Chicken (Brian) has a few awesome ones,if you have the money for primo tools.
