Why not just order one directly from Richard Black. He will build one to your specs for $1200.00, and last I heard he delivers in less than 6 months.

He doesn't build very many plain cues, so if you are lucky enough to find one on the secondary market it probably won't be to your specs. BTW, Black always delivers on time. He will say which a month you will get your cue and you will get it exactly then.

Ive heard that Richard dosent make cues quit like he did years ago, so Im trying to find something in the nineties or earlier. Plus I have to have it now of course.

The one I have was made in 1994.

Here is a picture of the 94 Black I have for $750. No veneers though. Hits like an older Black. The rings are ivory.

I sold one about a year ago to Denny of thecuestop.com... his site is down right now, but maybe someone has his phone number.

The cue has ebony points in unstained birdseye forearm with black and natural veneers, nice ebony/ivory/silver buska ring above the black w/white spec wrap, and ebony butt. A plain cue, but very elegant and nice.

I had it made in 1997... maybe he still has it and is willing to sell. He is a very friendly guy and loves to talk about cues.

Richards new cues in the last 4 years I think are the best he has made to date . all the ones ive gotten have been superb!!

I believe "Denny" posting on AZ is the same person from thecuestop.com. I've bought at least two cues from Denny at thecuestop before ... thumbs up transactions.

I still have the cue that BillYards was talking about. It has a slight roll in the forearm at the joint. When I picked up my last cue from Richard he told me to bring it with me on my next trip and he would take care of it. It's not a big deal. I should be picking my next cue from Richard the end of the month. The cue is a 60 incher if that makes a difference to you.

Thanks Jazz for the kind words.

I also have to agree with Bill on the work that Richard is putting out. I had a cue made in 2003 and 2 this year.
