This is a beautiful cue I recently got from Bama as an experiment for me. I never played with a wrapless, wood to wood joint style cue like this. Though it hits very solid it's not my style as a player. The guys at the pool room love it, and call me crazy to part with it, but I have played for 20 years with piloted stainless steel jointed, 5/16-14 cues like Schon, Boar, Gilbert, Phillippe, Carolina etc., and thats what I'm looking for in a trade....a traditional players cue on the plain side with a SS piloted joint. Lets see whats out there.
I re-used the listing Bama put together. Hope it's ok Joe...let me know if it's not. He does a real nice job on the presentation!
I'm looking for a trade, but the cue is also for sale too. PM me with questions or offers.
This cue is built from some very highly figured wood. According to Kenny, he signed the cue on the butt sleeve, but the figure of the wood is so dramatic there that I can't find it, but I am certain it is there.
If you like great wood, a wrapless cue and a firm playing cue, this is it.
Specifications:
- Butt: 15.0 ounces
- Shaft 1: 3.5 ounces, 13mm, LBM ferrule, Moori..cue balances at 19.25" with this shaft
- Shaft 2: 4.1 ounces, 13mm, LBM ferrule, Moori..Cue balances at 20" with this shaft
- Joint: 3/8x10 brass pin, made by Kenny, wood to wood joint with black phenolic sleeve
- Rings: The butt has 6 sets of maple dash rings, and there is also one on the shaft, so there are rings at 7 positions on this cue
- Forearm: Real highly figured, dark cocobolo
- Points: Eight highly figured curly maple points, 4 high and 4 low
- Handle: A segmented handle of very curly birdseye
- Butt sleeve: Highly figured, dark cocobolo
- Black phenolic butt cap
thanx, Gerry
