Trade Completed - Never made it to the Open.
Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest.
I’m heading to the US Open this Thursday through Sunday. I’m bringing a Tascarella and a 2x1 Murnak case. The case was one of Jim’s last, does not have pockets and has scroll work top and bottom. The case has only been used for storage of the Tasc. Pics below.
The cue is in 95+% condition, no dings, scratches, everything straight, etc. It's sitting in the case with very little play. I did a trade for it with Mark (The Cuehunter on AZ) and I believe he got it from a collector. Chime in Mark if you see this.
Specs: Butt: 15.3 oz., Shafts: 3.9 oz. each and both 13.02mm. Perfectly done leather wrap from Pete, stitch rings at joint and shafts, 16 ivory inlays, 5/16x14 piloted joint. Straight grain maple forearm and ebony points and butt, ivory ferrules, Kaumi Black Soft tips with red pads. The shafts are very clean, tight grain and tight compression fit. Veneers from inside out: Maple, Orange, Red, Ebony. Cue has a great hit with that desired ‘Ping’.
I value this package in the +4k range in a trade. I’m not interested in selling the market is too soft. Some of the cues I’m interested in are Southwest’s (prefer Franklin w/numbered pin), Mottey’s, (I’m a fan of his diamond ring work), Haley’s, Tasc (full splice/no wrap), Mobley’s, Vollmer’s. I am not really interested in trading up so that takes out some of the really top-tier guys (unless someone surprises me) but I will consider trading down. I want to trade cue and case together and I’m not interested in another case. My desired weight range is flexible, piloted or flat face. The cue has to be 90+ %, completely straight together and apart, nothing smaller than 12.75 shafts. I’m pretty traditional so a basic 4 pointer by the “right” cue maker could be just fine. I am not interested in production cues - only cues from top-tier craftsmen.
I’ll happily keep this duo so please no low-ball trade offers. I’m interested in a fair trade for both parties. I’m not doing any deals until the Open. I want to see what is up there by individuals and dealers.
Please PM me if you have something and if it looks interesting we can exchange contact information.
Thanks for looking,
David
