Wu 1 vs Manalo 0

Breaks and makes the 6. 1 on the side packet and made. 2 on the bottom right taken.

3 off the rail drawn and CB hits the 8 and nearly snookered.

4 deposited, 5 too. 7 on the bottom left and the 8 waiting on the side packet.

8 in and 9 near the center spot. 9 in.
 
Wu 2 vs Manalo 0

Wu breaks and makes the wing ball 6. Plays safe and hides CB on the back of 4 with 1 bottom right. Manalo hits the 1 slightly.

Wu shots a long straight on 1. 2 is covered by the 7 for top left. Cuts it very finely for the left side and in.

Shots the 3 off the rail cleanly for the bottom right. CB on the center for the 4. 4 in with 5 on the rail left bottom halfway. easy 7 on the top left. 8 on the 1 diamond top right. 9 for the win.

Wu 2 vs Manalo 1

Wu breaks and makes 4 and 1. Has the 2 off the right rail and missed it. 2 covered by the 8 for bottom left.

Manalo plans a safety but offers a small peak on the 2 behind the 9. Wu has a tought cut for the left bottom and misses. CB top and 2 on bottom near left. Marlon shots for the cushion first and makes the 2. No clear 3 which is slightly covered by the 7.

Marlon thinks long and hard for covers. Marlon kicks badly offering a cut on the near rail for the top right just pass the side right. CB on the center.

Wu is thinking what to do. Fires and overcuts. Manalo has a clear easy cut to top right. 5 on the same hole waiting. 6 to the bottom right and 7 waiting near right side packet and overrun slightly. 7 deposited using slow stun-stop.

8 and 9 to get 1 rack.

Wu 2 vs Manalo 2

Manalo breaks and makes 3 balls 1, 3 and 5 and a clear 2 for bottom left. 4 to top right. 6 to bottom left. 7 on the top left and 8 for the bottom left and 9 for the bottom right. Boy that was classic Manalo wipeout.
 
Wu 3 vs Manalo 2

Manalo breaks and makes the 5. Layout is bad with 1 covered by the 6,but has a peak on the 1. Manalo runs for cover with no jumping on. Wu kicks and got a lucky cover eclipsed by the 9. Marlon kicks around the 1 going around kicking the 9 and nearly making the 9 on the side left.

Wu banks the 1 and barely making it. 2 for the right side and 3 9 combo waiting on the left side for the rack.

Wu 4 vs Manalo 2

Wu breaks and makes 7 with an easy 1 for bottom left. 4 and 6 are the only problem. Cuts the 2 off the rail for top right. Deposits the 3 bottom left for a 4 6 combo off the rail. Wu shots and makes the 6, 4 on the same packet. 5 for top right and 8 waiting on the jaw of right side and then the 9 for the rack.

Wu 5 vs Manalo 2

Wu breaks and makes 1 and 7. 2 peaks out of the 5. Wu tries for covers and badly makes the 2 out. Marlon tries the 2 to kiss the 3 for the left side and misses it. Bad choice. :(

Wu thinly slices the 2 for bottom right. 3 to top left. 4 to top right. 5 to the same packet. 6 to bottom left and 8 to bottom right and the 9 for the rack.
 
Wu 6 vs Manalo 2

Wu breaks and makes 1 and 5 with a shot on the 2. 2 for the top left. 3 off the rail to top right. 4 near the mouth of top right. 6 to top left. 7 to top right. 8 to bottom right and 9 for the rack.
 
Wu is only 16 years old. According to the WPC forums, the viewers to the live broadcast are saying Marlon Manalo is "choking." It's nice to know he is human!

This is a hard match for me to root for. I like the idea of Wu being a young champion making his mark, but for Marlon, he seems to be on top of his game.

BTW, Blowfish, THANKS for the play-by-play updates. Very much appreciated. :)

This 16-year-old Taiwanese sensation must have the whole arena pulling for him, being the hometown guy. Must be a difficult environment for Marlon. For the eyewitnesses, it must be one thrilling match!

Wu 7 vs Manalo 2

Wu breaks and makes the 2 with a clear 1 and nice spread. Clears the 1. 3 on the left side. 4 to top right. 5 to right side. 6 8 combo lined up well to bottom right and deposited. 6 to the same packet. Clears the rest for the rack.

Wu breaks and makes 1 and 2 with a 3 of a tester shot for top right. Aims and gets up. Aims and bubbles it. 3 cousy up on the CB near top left. Runs for cover but not lucky. Wu runs for covers for a perfect safety with CB on the back of the 6. Marlon kicks and makes it. 3 on the bottom rail for a very tought cut and made by Wu.

Perfect position on the 4. 4 bottom right. 5 on the same. 6 off the rail top left. 7 to bottom left. 8 to the right side and 9 for the rack.

Wu breaks and makes the 8. Runs for cover and badly missed it. Marlon is up fast. 1 2 combo coming up. Lines it up. Clears it. Cleans the table up for the rack. Boy that was so fast.
