WWYD 9-ball...

I'm with Kris on this one. What makes this situation difficult is being jacked up over the 9 ball.

I might slow roll a rail-first shot on the 1 hitting the one ball with right english, leaving the cue ball with an opening to the 2 ball (near the other rail and the 7). Then a safety on the 2 ball by hitting it left side with left English (the 2 stops against the 8) bringing the cue ball three rails back behind the 4/3.
Not likely to get much better advice than this!

That said, I reckon there's about a 30% chance of getting hooked on the 2 by that curtain of balls, which is big trouble, and hard to get enough of the 2 ball, to keep it near the rail without risking a scratch where the 1 went, by my estimation.

This is what I would do.

Wouldn't high left english here just make the cue ball stick up close to the short rail?
It could stick, if it's a slippery cloth and hits the 1 ball directly, it should run ok rail first.

I'd be tempted to play firm stun with heavy right, rail and 1 ball hit at the same time, hoping to get a shot something like Tate's but perhaps further up table if the CB gets through the traffic.

If I finished around where Tate diagrammed the CB, I'd consider this type of shot. Mine are blue and orange lines.

Don't know about playing the cueball in that area exactly, but I would play it hard enough to get to where I can see the 2 and then play a thin hit off it to go several rails to other side of table.

This scene takes me back to my action days....
...I might foul the cue ball while warming up...
...and then complain that I was getting tired.
he ain't getting out with BIH.

I would rather give BIH on the one ball than hook myself on the two ball.....
....I'll fight it out from here.
