The Kid's gonna have a nice room in a few month's after remodeling and I myself would like to see a little one pocket game , even though he lost to the ghost last week getting the handspan every other shot , sorry Jimmy I know it was tough on that bar table , back to other breaking news , I myself was not the stakehorse for Geno , if you read properly I heard ! The message is a little cryptic. :o

Reed Pierce is this pool player who has since retired and, from what I was told, was eye candy for the ladies. His first name is spelled R-e-e-d.

Born on April 24, 1963, in Jackson, Mississippi, his notable tournament wins include the 1995 US Open Nine-ball Championship, the 1998 Camel Tour Kasson Open, and the 1994 PBT Dallas Open.

Also, Reed was selected to represent the United States twice in the Mosconi Cup, in 1997 and 1998.

Today, Reed Pierce and his brother, Ronnie, own an upscale billiards sports bar and restaurant, bearing Reed Pierce's name in Byram, Mississippi. Inside the restaurant is an actual pool room named 9-Ball Lounge, and it has eight Diamond regulation-size pool tables.

Here is Reed Pierce's Wikipedia article: Reed Pierce's Wiki.

Reed looks like he's chewing a little tobacco in that picture. :grin-square:

Jimmy Wetch, not to be confused with Jim Wych the Canadian referee, snooker and pool player, is a player from Minnesota. He was ranked 5th in the world by the PBT in 1996.

Like many a pool player, he came out of semi-retirement when the IPT and it's multi-million-dollar payouts came to the fore. He is depicted in the picture below at an IPT event in Vegas, July 2006, adhering to the dress code.

Interestingly, Jimmy Wetch and Reed Pierce are good friends. Every time I saw them at a tournament, they were together, hanging out.

Today, Jimmy runs a pool room in Minnesota. I think it's called "Pro Billiards"

Veteran AzBilliards members will remember what happened to poor Jimmy Wetch and his beloved pet named Junior as it all unfolded right here on AzBilliards.

Jimmy got off work, closing his pool room in the wee hours of the morning. It was freezing cold in Minnesota. He and Junior went to work together every day. He stopped by the local convenience store to get some ice cream and dog biscuits for Junior. He left his car running out front with the heater on to keep Junior warm. There was not a soul in sight, as it was 3:00 in the morning or thereabouts. :)

As he opened the door to exit the store with ice cream and dog discuits in hand, he witnessed the worst horror any pet owner can imagine. There was his car driving off, with poor Junior standing in the back window looking at him, as if to say, "Why aren't you here? Where am I going?"

Junior is also the mascot of Jimmy's pool room, and the whole pool community was in an uproar when this happened. Jimmy went on the local news, pleading for the return of his beloved Junior. In fact, I was so upset by it that I contacted the Ellen and Oprah TV shows, hoping they'd give it a little air time, knowing they are animal lovers, in hopes to finding Junior.

Meanwhile, one day went by, a couple days went by, and soon it was almost a week, with no sign of the car or Junior. :(

A local man saw a bunch of kids taunting what looked to be a rabbit in a vacant house. It was below freezing during the night, as it is in Minnesota this time of year, and he could hear the animal crying. Each morning, the man went out and tried to lure the animal out of a vacant property, but to no avail.

Finally, he decided to bring out the big guns and came to the property with a big ol' hot dog. Junior couldn't hold back any longer, so very cold and hungry. He hesitantly came outside and went up to the man. Junior chowed down on that delicious hot dog like there was no tomorrow. The man brought him to the warmth of his home, and the next morning, he took him to an animal rescue league in the area, knowing Junior must have belonged to somebody. :grin-square:

Thankfully, Jimmy had already contacted all the right authorities, as well as had time on the local news shows. When the animal authorities saw Junior, they called Jimmy right away.

Here is the original AzBilliards thread about this happening: Car Jacking Jimmy Wetch thread.

Here's the media shot of Jimmy and Junior's reunion at the animal shelter. It actually brought tears to my eyes -- happy tears -- when I read about it. At least there was a happy ending! :smiling-heart:
