While I'm no proponent of backward facing baseball caps I clung to the more important thought that after over a year of pandemic disruption, getting to see some high quality pool being played for a BIG payout trumped any questionable fashion statements.
Call me Madcap (forward or backward).

Starting with where we agree, I am not a proponent of backward facing hats, and I am also very happy that we are getting back to playing pool tournaments, gathering in groups, getting vaccinated, and putting the pandemic behind us. Better days are ahead.
With that said, I will share that I think we need to elevate the game and that any tournament or challenge match that is being streamed should have a basic dress code, and I started a thread a few days ago in that regard. I think that most of the posters to that thread agree, but admittedly not all.
Instead of just clicking on your stream and then clicking off, I shared why. I'll articulate that a bit more. I think that I am your target viewer and probably I am the target for your sponsors as well, so maybe this feedback has some meaning.
There are almost limitless options for watching pool. I can watch the Matchroom highlights or pay for the streaming content, or watch old videos from ESPN or Accu-Stats. I can watch other free streams of local tournaments (and I often do). When I tune in, I want to see players who are elevating the game by wearing a shirt with a collar (a basic polo), and decent pants. A belt wouldn't be so bad either, since we bend over all the time. The only hat I would accept would be something that is stylish and part of a complete ensemble, like a fedora, perhaps. That's about all I ask.
No baseball hats, no shirts without sleeves, no clothes that look like they came out of a hamper and are all wrinkled, no concert t-shirts or Harley Davidson t-shirts, etc.
Tournament directors can do as they will, but as a consumer I have already decided that if I see even a single competitor in clothes that I think fail to elevate tournaments and challenge matches beyond the average league night, then I'm out.
