Yang vs. Orcullo

Lets not forget that Earl had a 17 game lead going into the final day of TCOM against Efren. And Earl didn't self destruct, he dogged two shots and got a bad roll off a kick shot in another. All the other games Efren broke and ran out pretty much. Lets see if Orcullo has some of Efren's magic. ;)

But he was Efren Reyes ;)

lmao...your kidding right? you seriously don't know who Bartrum is?

No, I'm not, I've never heard of him. Why don't you tell me who he is, and why I should be impressed that Orcullo gave him the 7 and robbed.

Well, if you aren't impressed of Dennis at all in the first place, then there is no point in asking for Bartrum's phone number! Here's a hint, Bartrum is that bartender at HD, so you shouldn't need to worry about him! lol

They played for 10K last year and Dennis won, before the WPC.

I think this is not true?

Last year, 2006, they didn't play for sure. Yang was there, but didn't play Orcullo. All the rumors tells - and that's one of the tags as they advertised this match, that these two guys had never met b4. Not in tournament nor gambling..

If they form a team of ten pinoy players, to challenge any team in the world 10 ball for money, I think we will be hard pressed to find any country taking them on, except may be Taiwan.

Can we find ten players in the US to match up with ten pinoys for money?

Sorry Richard, but we cannot find 10 players from the whole Universe to match up pinoys at 10-ball gambling..

I think Dennis is still a great player, but he is getting his head handed to him here. If they play several times, I have no doubt Dennis will find a way to win, just as he did when Van Van was beating him earlier this year.

For anyone to handle Dennis like this, he has to be a great player. I say let them play Ten Ball next time. And I'll bet on Dennis again...EVEN!

Yeah.

I heard from his previous manager, that his ass used to get beaten in early 2000 a lot. That's why he became so strong. He's not the most talented of the top pros, but he has the urge to find a way to get even... ...and to pass...

I am sure we could dig up 10 stone cold killers right here in the USA.

Efren is also known to have backers and he doesn't always look motivated when he plays.

Now you put a gun to Efren's head and tell him to win or die and imo he beats the world without breaking a sweat, that's 8 ball, 9 ball, straights, one pocket AND banks

TAP TAP TAP!

mentally...dennis was outclassed by yang. dennis missed an easy 6ball last night...an EASY 6ball... yang all through matches has d same facial expressions...on dennis behalf..you can see from his face how dissappointed he was during some of his racks loses...

Yeah, but that's also cultural difference.

When Chao won World Championships, he nodded his head towards the audience firmly. When Alex won his WPC, he screamed, danced and jumped around the arena. And Yang is Chao's student.

What I'm trying to say, is that pinoys shows emotions much more than taiwanes anyway. About Yang's mental strength, you are though correct. I'm sure he outclassed Dennis at least this time..

The next pinoy players to put in a money game would be Van van, and Gabica.

Not trying to put Alcano down, but in my opinion, these two are the most deadly, although Alcano is more famous.

Why dont a promotor fly these guys to Vegas, and put a team of US, and Taiwanese, to play against them? I like to see a reality show format on TV, would be very interesting.

May be three players in each team.

Richard

Hmmmm, in a closed door or any how authentic money match, I'd still put Dennis. In a limelight TV match, I'd put Alex. In a regular tournament match, maybe Manalo. Van Van and Gabica wouldn't come close..

I wanna see Reyes-Bustamante VS Chao-Yang, sort of "master-student" team, in a longer match.

.

This match was on couple of years ago in a tournament which name I cannot recall. It was a team tournament, where were players from US, Europe and other Asians, playing against taiwanese. That particular match, race to 11 or 9, Efren and Busty won nicely..

I think in a longer match, it would be for sure the pinoys would win, as they are used to longer races, taiwanese only shorter..

I don't think it should be like Mosconi Cup format though. I'm thinking of a more dramatic impact. It will be great if for example Top 20 from each country, 10 matches in the Philippines and 10 matches in Taiwan, simulcast.

This will give a better insight on who rule that side of the world.

Well... ...or everry other year in Phi, and every other in Taiwan. Maybe 10 players would be enough or even less..

I'd like to see more of these
Perhaps put Corey Deuel in the box against Yang, now
Hell, I'd bet on Corey

Game will be played in Asia?

You'll lose big time buddy..

Yeah, cause no Americans can put packs together. Only Asians can do that.

Hell, play it in Zimbabwe

Big time?
Nah

Heh, what I'm trying to say is, that Yang and other taiwanese don't travel much. You don't see them in US Open or other tournaments. One of the reasons is already that they don't speak english. With the pinoys, it's different. If you's bring Yang to USA, th story would be different, but in Asia, your money would be stolen.

Maybe Zimbabwe would be good place.

Last years WPC all americans got beaten badly, most by taiwanese, and no-one got even to L32 round. (Deuel was beaten by Wu; 2-10)

You don't know the reasons why Alex was so animated after he won.
He felt so alone when he was playing, the whole crowd was against him, everytime and anytime he makes a mistake, the place would erupt.

Hell, they even assigned somebody to sit behind him to distract and annoy him. And that's when he decided to punish his opponent and the crowd when he got the chance.

Sure, Alex can be animated more than the other players that you and I know. That's just his nature, but more so when won the World Championship because it was him against Taiwan. And he prevailed....

So you mean Yang should be jumping up and down and scream like no business when he beat Dennis?

Don't forget that Efren didn't know English either when he first came in the states, neither understood nor spoke it. he had to bring an interpreter along with him all of the time during his early years in the U.S. so, language isn't really that much of a real factor. if that's what you are trying to say as an acceptable excuse. Chao, also tried his luck touring in the U.S. during his early years playing pool. he abandoned it eventually after a few stints. it's pretty difficult coping up with the expenses in the states, especially if you don't win most of the time. It is either your broke or dead broke.
