In my opinion, the younger players are going to, and have started to, overtake the veteran players. They seem to grow up developing tighter and tighter fundamentals and it's starting to show.

The youngest players on the Mosconi Cup teams are outperforming the veterans. I think soon, J. Berg is going to overtake Shane as the best in the US, and a few years later Sky might overtake Justin, then a new generation will overtake Sky.

I like your take on the order of it.
It's nice to have a couple up-and-coming young guns (Berg and Sky) in the wings.

I know what you're trying to say, lorider, but the word is not evolution.
Evolution is a process where something changes into something else.
That was Darwin's theory.

Shane is not "changing" nor "developing" into Bergman or Sky.

I believe the concept here is simply a "passing of the torch" or "heirs apparent."

Just kicking some knowledge, sir. :grin:

Now aren't Skylar and Bergman products of Mark Wilson training? Frequent visits to Lindenwood University at the pool center?

I'm just projecting here, but it looks like the junior program and training regiment that Mark Wilson directs is starting a culture of pool excellence that will grow champions.

If anyone has more info, is love to hear it.
 
Yes and no. Justin lives in the area and does go to Lindenwood on occasion. Mark brings in pro players as often as he can to help with his college players.

Sky lives in Kentucky and has been to Lindenwood but not under Mark's training.....except for the 2 weeks prior to the Mosconi Cup.

When Justin was 10/11/12 or so....he played a lot with Mark.

That's really cool about Justin.
When Justin took down Appleton last night, Wilson looked like a proud father watching his kid. That's cool to know he's had an influence in Justin's development for over a decade.
