I don't know what the weight of his cue was, but that is one hell of a forward balance point. I don't know if Kikel bores out the nose of his butt and adds weight down there or what, but unless you have a pretty heavy shaft I'd like to know how it was done, especially if the cue weighed around 20 oz.
I probably would have LOVED that cue. Hell, I wish I'd have known it was up for sale.
Here are my specs that just give me the most feel that work perfectly for my tempo and timing. It's taken a lot of years to figure it out, but these are the weights and balance points of the cue that I use most and how it's distributed.
Cue Weight - 19.7 oz.
Butt Weight - 14.9 oz.
Shaft Weight - 4.8 oz.
Balance point from end of butt - 20 1/2"
Balance point from end of wrap - 3 1/2"
For many, the weight of my shaft would be high, but it works and feels great.
Are any of you adamant about your prefences or have a particular like?

Gilbert

Shaft – break: 4.25 oz
Shaft – play: 4.3 oz
Balance: 20.25” – 33.75% from rear

I also want to get away from the SS joint, as I really like a 3/8-10 or radial much better. I hate the way I can't roll the cue ball 6 inches with my Predator cause I can't feel it come off the tip.

If you get away from a SS joint...how do you propose that the cue is going to be made for more forward balance especially if you have to use extensions? I'd like to hear your ideas...
Shorty said:Hey Zeeder,
Let me know if you ever want to part with this Gilbert...nice balance and weight for me.
That is the biggest complaint I have right now with my Schon, it's too butt heavy with my mods adding more than I thought to the rear of the cue. It was 19.5 before I added the rear joint, now it's 20.1...so quite a difference. I prefer a forward balanced cue, somewhere around 19.5 to 20 inches with around a 4.5 ounce shaft. *sigh*
Looking more and more like I may have to have a custom made from scratch with the rear extensions so that I can get a better weighted and balanced cue.

MFB said:Here is the cue I am having made to my specs. I expect delivery in about 1.5 weeks.
Butt diameter 1.190"
Shaft 13 MM
BRKNRUN said:Is that super narrow??? (1.190)
I am still wondering what "standard" is, and where 1.25 falls.
Is 1.25 narrow or standard???

drivermaker said:I don't think 1.25 is as narrow as your Schon was, nor will it be as narrow as you seemed to want it. You might want to email or call Schon for their standard specs on butt size.
