Your honest opinion of Viking Cue.

I am an ambassador for Viking and have the P6 which you can tell from my signature. I have won MANY tournaments with it over the years and the glove leather they used for my wrap has a great 'tacky' texture for better grip than a linen or other leather wrap.

I love my Viking and they do a fantastic job any time I need something done.

great cues!

I've played with a viking since 1998, and I can honestly say, they are the best hitting cues I've ever played with. Most people only see their production cues but you would be blown away by some of Gordy's personal stuff. They made my cue in 2000 and everywhere I go people always ask" what kind of cue is that" and when I tell them a viking they say "no way they only make production cues". They put the same quality into all of their Ques and Gordy and Barry stand behind their product.I highly recommend trying one out. P.S. SVB liked the way it played!

Good AMERICAN company that stands behind their product! For my money the two best production cues Made In America are Viking and Joss.

Off topic, but how would you compare it to a Schon?

I've always known some pretty strong players to stand true to a new Viking purchase...just always known Schon to have a greater reputation for quality and manufacturing..

I saw some for sale from a dealer, I picked a few up and I could feel every inlay on the Vikings. As far as quality playing cue, can't go wrong. Made in the USA and play great. Anything thats a cue and made in Winsconsin, you can't go wrong. For me, Pechauers and McDermotts.

I've never been a fan of their shafts (mostly due to the taper), but on the other hand, our Vegas team all used an old F model with stock shaft and that son of a gun did everything without a complaint. Break, play, beat up people (okay, just kidding about that last one). Focus on what is most important first, then buy. In this order: Balance point, shaft taper, circumference of grip, ferrule (meaning likelihood of deflection), tip, joint, pin.

As far as the ferrule goes, I've had a cuemaker do something similar and it plays just like a predator.
