i guess that eliminates all the AZB'ers. ;)

I dont think believe in luck. I mean maybe on a break. Usually if you beat someone or they beat you its your fault or theirs. I just dont see how it can be luck. Even on a break if you work on your break you can pocket balls usually. I dont know.

I'm a very lucky pool player ..... very lucky to have met so many wonderful people in my thirty six years leaning over the glorious green felt.

Have met loads of AZBers, Bruin, but really want to meet more of them. Hope to meet TheOne and OnePocketChump at the BCA open, and to meet Landshark77 at Peoria, which, by the way, is where I first met Williebetmore a couple of years ago. Still, I know I'll have to step on the gas to meet as many forum members as I'd like to. Then again, I do get around.

so what's an "A"? real lucky???

i am a cold calculating player, sporting a game blessed with the precision of fine german optics. i slice and dice in increments finer than a ginsu blade.

nary a ball goes where i don't want it, and "luck" has no place in my pool vocabulary.

so what does that make me?:):):)
Self deluded?

Luck is a product of the player and his attitude and aura. If you are a good player who runs out and puts pressure on your opponent you are more likely to get them to feel the pressure and therefore scratch on the 8/9 or scratch on the break when that person goes for extra knowing they "need" to make a ball. The weaker player when they get hit by one case of bad luck will often get down on themselves and cause more "bad luck" to occur by going for extra on shots or getting the yips from the former bad breaks.

Take away the differences in attitude and aura and skill and we all have the same amount of "luck" in the game. We will generally win 50% of our coin tosses over the course of our lives, we will get a average amount of bad kicks off the break causing a scratch, we will get a unfortunate leave off the break beyond our control a normal percentage of the time. Anything else above and beyond that you feel is "luck" or "bad luck" is a product of your play and is caused by you and not the pool gods.
