Your Old Simonis Tournament Blue Cloth

ryanshea

Dreamer of dreams
I would like to make some matching curtains for my pool room, so would like to score someone's old Tournament Blue Simonis cloth they no longer need. Obviously it is not worth buying new cloth for the curtains. Look how sad and lonely my room looks without curtains. Your trash is my treasure :)

Have a price, shoot it my way. I'd also be willing to trade for a somewhat discolored set of Centenials balls.

A room like that and you are looking for used cloth for window coverings ?

It Reminds me of the all off the old beat up Chevy Impalas in town with the

bad azz chrome 20's, killer stereo system and poor bodywork and paint

that looks like it was applied with a spray can.

Simonis

Nice room. I picked up some used tourney blue Simonis from Erajcustom89 right before Christmas. I think he had several.

I've got some used cloth, have you ever seen what sunlight will do to pooltable cloth? I hope you plan on using a backer on the sun side of the cloth.

I've got a piece from a nine foot table

barking4action - Those are acoustic panels they help with resonance in a room to keep it quiet, (or quieter). You see them a lot in Theatre rooms in homes, Movie Theatres use a much bigger version of them usually look like part of the wall.

Those are not TVs, just some sound baffles I made (part of why I also want curtains). The room is like an echo chamber :)

I expect smoke smell, no worries. The table is a GC4 from the 1999 9 Ball US Open. My mother makes some mean curtains and valances so we'll see how they turn out, but yes they'll have a backing. @dontlitethat - a piece from a single 9' table should just about do it. I've got an old piece of green, but that would look bad.

Cool idea. Have you checked places like jo ann fabrics for something the right color?

If it were me I'd take a scrap piece of cloth and see if you can find something that matches. Least that way it wouldn't be faded and have marks or anything in it like old cloth.

I can check out a fabric store (if I can even find a scrap of the Tournament Blue around). I had assumed it would be difficult to match, and for echo abatement I thought the nice heavy weight of the Simonis would be good. Plus there is just something sort of cool about making curtains out of Simonis, even if there are ball burns and a mild smoke smell - call it nostalgia.

Geovani,

Big thanks to Randy from Indy for the hookup. I'll post pics of the curtains when they are done.

Finally got my curtains mostly done! I ended up using bridges as my curtain rods, which worked well, and used bronze grommets that roughly match the bronze on the Gold Crown.
