Would you take advice from someone who can not beat you nor has ever established any kind of achievements in your sport? Thanks=)

I would

consider it depending on the source, and I mean, what type of person they are not what type of player, but as far as utilizing the information, probably not unless they were at least very close to my speed or better.

If they are just a plain idiot as a person, then no.

But, I have been playing 45 years, and there isn't a whole lot that I haven't run across, either gambling or in tournaments.

I would listen to a good friend or to a good instructor though always.

I listen to everyone. I used to take everything to heart but I have gotten better at listening and thinking over whether it is something to store in my memory or not. You can learn something from everyone, no matter what level they are. There are many people that play under me that know way more than I can ever dream of knowing.

Ok let me ask you it this way. If karen corr told you the same thing a bca certified instructor did. Would you be more comfortable with Karen telling you or the instructor?

I would feel fine with listening to either one of them. One of them might have a different touch on what they are explaining or one of them might explain it better or in a way easier for me to understand. I would have to listen to them both. I have been told the same thing from many different people but everyone has a different way of explaining things. Sometimes it just clicks the way one says it opposed to the other.

Sport-wide seems a little broad, don't you think? I would generally say no...but you have to be more specific for that to carry any value. For example, if player a kicks better than I, I may want to learn from them how to kick. If I beat down player b, but they always make this 1 shot that I have trouble with, maybe I could learn that 1 shot from them.

If you mean advice like: "I suck and I want to get better", then maybe you should ask someone who is better...

Cdavis - you seem a little driven on asking this question about taking advice of all the forum pros and following up with a Karen Corr question. Karen is also a BCA certified instructor as well as being the fantastic player that she is. She will tailor a lesson to the person taking the lesson. It is up to the student to take the advice that will work for them.

Just goes to show, bro, that sometimes, no matter how many times you reword the question, clarify it, offer alternate circumstances.. you aren't gonna get the answer you want.

Sorry, man! :D
