Your Recommended Practice Drills for 9ft Table

There seem to be several versions of the Mighty X drill. I think the original by Bert used a cue ball and four object balls and the balls were not replaced until all had been shot off. Another version uses object balls as the cue ball so no cue ball is on the table. Another version requires (or asks) you to scratch on each shot.
A cue ball and four object balls? How does that work?

I usually do 2 cue balls and 2 object balls.

When I went to Bert, we did two OBs ahead and one CB., rotating positions around the table.
If you're at the foot of the table. there are OBs at the two spots on the head string.
Place CB on the left mark and shoot the top right ball into the pocket, drawing the CB back into the pocket.
Spot an OB where the CB was, and place the CB on the right mark. Pocket the top left ball and draw the CB back into the pocket.
Spot an OB where the CB was and rotate to the left spot on the head string with the CB.
Most days I would continue through the rotation until I was successful 5 times, then move to another version or drill.

That's impressive. I think that draw shot with a scratch is far, far too hard for nearly all players on a 9-foot table. Did you have to draw into the pocket or just get it far enough?

I can't draw like that. I set cue balls at one end and object balls at the other, do stop shots, spot object balls and repeat from the other end.

Maybe if I get my 8' table recovered I'll be able to draw that far, if not that accurately. I've shot on fresh cloth and it's fun being able to effortlessly draw the ball.

Be started me off with stop shots. You work your way up to the draw scratch.
My best was 4 consecutive. If I tried today I'd probably only get one out of ten.
