your thoughts about the prince of Brunei being in the WPC !

heard he had beaten top seeded Taiwanese Chang Jung Ling in a Brunei Invitational, yet he failed to even score more than 2 racks against Lee Chenman and Thomas Engert. and oh, the comment of learning to play pool, don't you see it as a lil bit cheesy? he maybe the best player of his country, but why didn't he underwent those qualifying matches and event? it's a free pass.

I'm wondering if this guy has people who carry his cue case for him, screw the cue together for him, chalk the tip for him, etc.

It's called a butler... and yes he has it in his entourage. If you look through the AZs WPC pics, you see the guy opening a bottle of water for the prince. :o

Crap.. humans are not robots.

If you play your A-games today doesn't mean that you will play an A-game tomorrow.

Michael Johnson, 200 m clock at 19.32's doesn't mean he can do it everyday.

Stricland can run 10 straight racks in a row doesn't mean he can do it in every WPC.

I do not understand why on earth you want to make the Prince looks bad. Any he done any wrong to you?

it seemed like the prince is more deserving to earn the slot rather than those qualifiers who beat each other's asses just to make the list. in any case, are there any hardcopies of accomplishments that this prince achieved in pool that gave him this right to play ? like let's say winning a single stop in the U.S. or winning a major event in his own country or any other neighboring countries. is he really their best player? those other qualifiers earn their share by winning on their own respective home soils and other soils as well. it would just be an injustice for those who didn't make the cut and to those who sweat it out in the qualifying round.

next time, let those have money play but can't play at all and let those who can play watch them from the sidelines. fair deal? entertaining isn't it? or is this a start where pool becomes a joke of a game?

There are few other players, that get qualified to the stage 2 spot without any winning in region tournament. One player, I knew never even participate in any tournament this year. Why don't you do you homework and knock those player instead?

You just trying to get some cheap publicity with The Crown Prince name, aren't you?

I know that the Sulton of Brunei is in the top 5 richest men in the world...
and i would imagine his son gets ANYTHING he wants

yup... pretty much. just let him play. i figure, if he's really that rich and loves the game that much, he'll hire the best instructors to teach him. but as it is, let him get killed in the tourney. it'll be a humbling experience in "how money doesn't get you everything you want". unless he plans on paying off every player in the tourney.

LOL it's hilarious that someone actually from brunei shows up to defend him. Maybe it's one of his many butlers.

I'm sorry if anyone takes this the wrong way, but reading this thread I keep picturing that bugs bunny episode when bugs is getting chased on a camel by Yosemite Sam in the desert.....<<thats how I see getting out of the princes house with the cash!

AND the Movie coming to America....when the girl pops up from the bath tub and sais...."the royal penis is clean".....<<<thats how I picture being the Prince!...:D

This post wasn't aimed at me, but I'll respond too. I couldn't care less if some poor little rich kid who plays no better than me buys his way into the WPC and gives a couple of real players a chance to relax for a match. However, don't pretend the guy can play, he is just another spoiled rich smuck. "Crown Prince", my a$$, he puts his pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us.

exactly my point and which mr. iceman here failed to see or refuse to accept that his prince sucks at pool. like he makes comparisons to the other players for being in the WPC. may I ask whom these players were and what were their world rankings and their capabilities as compared to the prince's pool skills? or let's simply say is the prince capable of even matching or defeating these so-called players? maybe mr. iceman here can shed us with some infos about the prince's pool experience on how he manage to salvage atleast a runner-up finish or didn't he just yet. 1 runner-up finish for 8 years in an invitational tourney and some so-so finish in a local pool room. wow, that's really a great achievement for the number one ranked player from Brunei. I bet one of his butlers can hand him his ass if the prince paid him to play him seriously. :D :D :D

He didn't buy his way into WPC. Why don't you call up Matchroom before calling someone a rich smuck. Every year, Brunei was given a quota for a player to compete in the WPC many years ago. Last year, was the first time Brunei has a Player competing in the WPC, which happen to be the CPOB. Like every country I believe they do have their own quota to play in the WPC e.g UAE and many more.

still missing the point I see. you are really into this blind thing, aren't you? or maybe you're having an eye problem ! :D :D :D

Like poker & golf, I'm thinking about the possobility of an AZB "celebrity pool tour" open to actors, athletes, politicians, musicians, and even the crown prince. Maybe that will help pool get into the mainstream, and the crown prince could compete quite nicely in those events.

Finally, a more realistic and helpful suggestion where the prince can really help pool.

Gotcha... http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=79110

Trying too be SMART ASS. Thinking you so clever. Trying to create your own rule everywhere every time. Modifying 9-ball. Hah! What a Joke! Why?you didn't get enuf attention from your boyfriends back home? What you trying to proof changing 9-ball? You think that only wing ball will pot during break? what about the one ball?

First you complaining about people competing in the WPC are not up to the standard. Now you whining that people are stringing racks and bored you to dead? So are you going to banned these players as well.

They are people being thrashed 9-0. Why don't you go picked on them? Proof that you guys want cheap attention.

I got an idea why don't you vote to become the new CEO for the WPC? I will be the first one to vote for you.
