Well I've been playing pool for lil over 2 years now in the apa I'm ranked a 6 almost made it too vegas last year. Just looking too talk too some guys see how it is out there maybe share some pics. I've heard that its great and there's a room with hundreds of tables. Hopeing too get out there this year hope too hear from u all and see the pics u got thanks :thumbup:

Been there to play a couple of times. It kind of looks like a pool players paradise, but just imagine just about any pool hall that you show up to for a league match on a night that just happens to be the busiest night they've ever had. I think if you don't take it too seriously you're much more likely to have a good time and enjoy your experience. Stay loose and you'll play better and probably finish higher. There will be plenty of "enthusiests" already there, too many rule book fanatics, equipment snobs, avid billiard encyclopedia readers with too much worthless knowledge that will try and educate you if you let them - talking pool is one thing but some of these folks are like fanatical christians trying to force their beliefs down your throat, you'll also find plenty of people with way too much experience that are never to shy to let you know it. So the assh0le quotent will be reasonably high. But you'll also meet some really cool people that love pool and love to play and want to have a good time. I went to a local hall late one night and ran into a team from another part of the country, we had the best time, but it was away from the Riv, funny how that worked.
I would suggest find a good bar, without pool tables, with a hot bartender. Tip her well, eat the bar food, drink the $1.00 PBR's, don't be to shy to buy a round for the other pool players that find their way in there, or the locals that are sharing their bar stools with you, and at 2, 3, or 4 AM, when the strip is not that busy, if you're not the far away take time to walk back to your hotel (which hopefully is NOT the Riv or Circus Circus), walk through the Cosmopolitan, The Mirage, Ceasers, The Wynn, walk back and take time to appreciate the lights and all the things there are to see.
When it's time to play, be devoted to it, give it your best and don't hold back. When you match is over relax and enjoy yourself. Even if you don't qualify you should make the trip anyways.
Couple of tips, at The Cortez - rotten hotel, excellent steak house, and try to save one evening time to get downtown, it can be a real hoot.

Well I got 3 shots this year got 8ball 9ball and 8singles so we will see really hope too make it
 
Good luck, I been to Vegas 3 times and at the end of April beginning of May will be my 4th .. It's just a great time.. With the tournaments, the minis, the sights and the parties.. Vegas is a great place to go !!

last year was my teams 1st trip to vegas. people advised us to stay at circus circus as it was cheaper and right across the street from the riv. yea its right across the street but its a loooonnnnggg !!! walk from the back of one to the back of the other.

3 of us rented a car for 2 days. went to hoover dam one day. that place was hotter than hades. probably due to all the concrete and asphalt that draws in heat. went to the grand canyon the next day. was not too hot at all. pictures don't do that place justice.

did not see too much of vegas but did cruise the strip one night....party central for sure. i am more of a nature guy. plenty of tour busses but renting a car is cheaper plus you can stop when you want too and stay as long as you want at each site vs a bus tour.

oh yea if you smoke...take a carton with you....cigs are high as hell out there. tobacco store down the street was reasonable but don't even think of buying a pack at the casinos.
 
Well I'm gonna try my best too get out there my team and I have been playing very strong so we will see

If you are APA check out the national site. They used to have a link showing the set up and break down of the tables if you are looking for your hall of tables picture. First time is always overwhelming and dont be upset if luck dictates if your team moves on or not. Play in all the Minis you can and see how you fare against players from all over. A couple of words of advice, DONT BUY CUE RAFFLE TICKETS and if you find yourself up late and there are guys talking about giving you crazy weight, just walk away. Some of them just come around to pick on the APA fish that cant believe someone plays bar tables that well.
