CueTable Help

I had a few minutes last night to try page 1 and 2 (Thanks to seymore15074 ).

I have been hitting them too soft in the first few tries and the cue ball land around 1,2,3. Then I add more speed, and use a punch stroke (short stroke), center ball hit, the CB went into the pocket few times in a roll.

Later I tried divide it into half table and hit it with same stroke (page 2), it went in pretty consistantly..

For now, on a GCIV with 5 month old cloth and super speed rubber, the magic number is 8:5 - CB starting point at 8th diamond, aiming spot at the cushion contact point for 5th diamond ....

If we can find out a system for this then Efren's shot is no longer just a lucky shot. He probably knew this all along.

Will try different things on different tables, more to report later..

Pretty neat, huh? Any comments or ideas on this mucho appreciated

He wasn't aiming at a pocket though. The 6 was centered on the end rail and the CB was good bit away from a corner pocket as well. I wonder what the math would be for that? Ah, forget it, he got lucky! LOL

In all serisouness, I thought he would hit the ball coming into the second rail (the 8 ball).

My thoughts on this are that he played it that way not expecting
to make it at all. I can't see anyone ever getting achieving more
than a 20% success rate, and more like 10%. But I believe that
playing it that way, gives the best chance for a hit, since the
ball is a "big ball". Hitting the end rail just before the ball is
what I would be aiming for. The thinner the hit on the ball the
better, as it will not move too much off the rail, and the cue ball
will come up to the other end of the table.

And the "hand wave" he gave, to me, makes me think that was his
way of indicating that he knows he got a great roll there.

Following your lead, I experimented a bit with Diagram 1 today.
Using 1 tip of right running english, with the CB on the 8th diamond, the aiming point was the 6th diamond.

Using 1 tip of high left english, with the CB on the 8th diamond, the aiming point was the 5th diamond.

Using high center, with the CB on the 8th diamond, the aiming point was in the middle of the 5th and 6th diamond.

I did this on Diamond tables that had 1 year old cloth in fair condition.
