Z shaft ferule change

Hi, I have this shaft, it is a Z2. The owner cracked the ferule. I noticed also a crack in the wood at the end. It is on the so called tenon and it goes for like 1/2 inch down. How should I proceed to put a new ferule ? Should I cut down from the shaft a bit to lose the crack, or should I make a longer tenon ? I couldn't imagine the wood is so thin, it is almost scary !
Any ideas will be appreciated :)
The crack length seems to be between the black lines, on the shaft center in the picture.

That's low-end mass technology for you.
You can re-tenon it but it will weigh more and last longer.

You may want to check with Predator to see if there would be any warranty on this.
Call them before you alter the shaft in any way. 1-888-314-4111.
If they will fix it you have your problem solved if not you are out a little time and a phone call.

Just read something very interesting on the Predator site, "ABUSE. Cues made of wood are not designed to withstand lateral pressure. Situations where a cue is leaned or propped up against a wall, dropped on the floor, bent excessively while playing, or hit on a table can damage the cue. We recommend protecting your cue with a hard case. "
Anyone knows, I think there is someone from Predator posting here ? I have another Z shaft from a P3 who is starting to develop cracks. For this one the ferule is still in place with no signs of damage

Hello,
I'm part of the Predator Repair Network (thru Seybert's) and there are several of us from the Network who post on this forum.
I don't believe that the shaft can be repaired (to Predator standards) but it can certainly be replaced. Predator has a pretty strong warranty but does exclude abuse.

Do the owners of these shafts break with them?
This is why I ask. While on the one hand, you should be able to break with any cue you own, breaking with an 11.75mm tip may not be the best thing you could do for the Z shaft. It's just not designed for that type of impact. It was never intended to be a break shaft; it is the ultimate 'game' shaft.
I may be getting ahead of myself so I'll await your reply.

I'm going to suggest that you contact Predator and present your case directly to them, maybe with a link to this thread which already has your pics.
There are ways to make the repair to these shafts but they would compromise the intended performance of the shaft. Talk to Predator.

No, they didn't break with them. Can you give me any contact mail instead of the contact form on they're site ? They still didn't answered.

The matter is resolved, Predator guys helped me to replace the shaft.
Thanks Jessica !!!
