Zim's Rack o' Tours Concept...

Just wanted to follow up on what's going on with the Zim's Rack APT.

I have a possible Tour Director for the Indianapolis area (not sure if he wants his name out there yet or not, I'll let him reply), but he wanted to wait until the 2009 season. That would give him more time to get rooms lined up and advertise it a little.

Brian Woodward from Ledbetter, KY is working on a Paducah, KY area tour. He had 3-4 rooms for this year, but wants to work at it some more and get additional rooms for the 2009 tour season.

The Gateway Amateur Tour here in the St. Louis area held it's first few events already for the 2008 season. The Qualifier participation has picked up, 21 and 20 participants in the first two events. The 1st Tour Stop was held the same day as a local 8-Ball League season championship, but we still drew 25 players. We're pretty confident that the numbers will grow once people find out it's 8-Ball this year instead of 9-Ball. I've been extremely busy and haven't been able to keep up with the website as much as I'd like to, but the info is there. www.zimsrack.com

We've made some adjustments to the Final Tour Championship (once we have more than 1 Tour). Each handicap (A, B+, B, C) will have a 32 player bracket (up to 3 Tours, 64 player bracket with 4 or more Tours), with the top 10-16 players in each handicap qualifying. With 2 Tours that's 32 players, with 3 Tours that's 30 players per bracket. The top 8 (4from winners, 4 from losers) players from each of the 4 brackets will advance to a mixed handicap 32 player bracket. The 16 on the losers side remain on the losers side and the 16 on the winners side remain on the winners side. We will redraw so the brackets are mixed handicaps and continue the tournament. Once you qualify to play in this 32 player bracket, you are guaranteed money. With 128 players, payout to top 25%, the top 32 get paid.

Possible payouts per number of Tours:
2 Tours with 128 players = $9,200.00
3 Tours with 128 players = $12,200.00
4 Tours with 256 players = $18,400.00
5 Tours with 256 players = $21,400.00
6 Tours with 256 players = $24,400.00
** All do not include proceeds from merchandise sales.

We have a couple options for the calcutta 1) A calcutta will take place for each of the 4 brackets and then paid out, then an additional calcutta for the final 32 players, then paid out! 2) A calcutta for the entire event!

Thanks, More info coming...

Wanted to bump this to the top to remind people of what I'm working on. If there is anyone interested in learning more about the tour concept and projected growth, feel free to contact me via email, apt@zimsrack.com or by phone, 618-409-4175.

This can happen, all it takes is some dedicated, go-gettem' people to oversee each tour! I guess in a nutshell, it's like the Viking Tour, but with no regional champs or pros allowed.

Thanks,
Zim

Sounds like a good idea here. All you need is some support from the room owners in the Midwest to get this rolling. I will be happy after the Derby Classic is over I can get back to playing on the tour again.
